Cayuga County Fair Speedway kicks off the festive Independence Day holiday on Sunday, July 1 when Stafford of Auburn presents FREEDOM NITE at the home of DIRTcar Racing NorthEast. Stafford of Auburn is the official Pace Car and Safety Truck Provider of Cayuga County Fair Speedway. The Pace Car is a rugged Monte Carlo SS with V8 Power.
The ground-pounding DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds headline a full program of DIRTcar action that includes weekly Sportsman Modified and BattleKarz divisions, plus Mod Lites and the third Soccer Moms Karmageddon. A big FIREWORKS finale caps off the Sunday show as fans and racers gear up for the annual Fourth of July motorsports marathon around the DIRTcar Racing circuit.
Qualifying races start at 7 p.m. while pit gates unlock at 4 p.m. and grandstands open to the public at 5 o’clock. The adult general admission ticket price is $12 for all regular shows, $10 for Seniors (65 yrs. plus) and $5 for children (10-14 yrs.) while those 9 years and under are free.
Jimmy Phelps leads Steve Paine in the current CCFS Modified point standings after a half-dozen feature events with two-time winner Phelps eyeing his first-ever Big-Block track crown. Shawn Donath (3 wins) has so far dominated the Sunday Sportsman Modified action and tops the current points chart ahead of Joe Williams and Jeremy Pitcher, both with one victory through the month of June.
Cayuga County’s full-fender competition continues to rank among the best as two-time winners Phil Marsden, Dave Mannise and current points leader Nick Rizzo head the UMP/DIRTcar Street Stock standings. Bill Werner retains his stronghold as the most dominant force in the BattleKarz division with a trio of triumphs registered in 4-Cylinder activity.
5-PAK ticket packages continue to be available for all regular events at Cayuga County and sister track Canandaigua (NY) Speedway. Providing a great deal for fans, each 5-PAK of tickets can be purchased for $48.00 which results in the receipt of (1) free ticket. The regular show admission is just $12 for adults (15-64 yrs.), $10 for Seniors (65 yrs. & older) and $5 for youths (10-14 yrs.) while children 9 yrs. & under are free.
Coming up the following week, July 5-8, is the annual Cayuga County Fair. Trackside actions begins Thursday, July 5 with $500-to-win Mr. DIRT Street Stock Series title race plus Mod Lites and Outlaw Sliders while the Pick-N-Pull Auto Parts Independence 201 Enduro Championship headlines the CCFS card on Friday. The Taylor Rental Broken Hearts Divorcee Demolition Derby and single-lap, single-elimination Spectacular Drags build up to the $5,000 Mega-Mash & Crash Open Demo on July 7 before DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds chase checkered flags in a pair of 20-lap main events on Sunday.
