FONDA , NY – On Saturday, June 30 at the Track of Champions the Morris Auto Group and Snapple will present a regular racing program in all divisions along with a Giant Fireworks Extravaganza with a starting time of 6:00 p.m.
The Dairy Frost, a longtime supporter of local racing which is located in Vail Mills, NY will also present a $500 bonus to the modified feature winner bringing the winners share of the 30-lap modified feature up to $2,700!
So far the 2007 racing season has been a very competitive one at Fonda with five different drivers winning the 10 feature events that have been run. Matt DeLorenzo leads the way with four wins followed by defending track champion Bobby Varin with three while Danny Johnson, Ryan Odasz, and Craig Hanson all have one win apiece.
David Towns leads the way in the sportsman division with a total of five wins followed by John McAuliffe and defending track champion John Scarborough each with two wins and Dave Constantino who just won the first sportsman feature of his career on Saturday, June 23.
Nick Stone has a total of three feature wins in the pro stock division so far in 2007 to lead the way in that class followed by defending track champion Kenny Martin Jr. and Kenny Gates both with two wins, Roy Fifield, Rob Yetman, and Chip Smith all with one feature win. For Yetman it was the first feature win of his career at Fonda.
The IMCA division has a total of six different winners in a total of nine events so far in 2007 with Jeremy Cramer leading the way with three wins followed by defending track champion Danny Ballard with two wins while Danny Ody, Kevin Buff, Aaron Jacobs, and Jim Cramer all have one win apiece. When Jim Cramer won the feature last Saturday evening it was the first time that he visited victory lane in his career at Fonda.
The street stock division shows Rocky Warner leading the way in feature wins with five while defending track champion Dave Horning Sr. and his son Dave Horning Jr. each have three wins, John Babcock has two wins, and Duke McSpirit has one win which was the first of his career at Fonda.
So come out to the Track of Champions on Saturday, June 30 and celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with some of the best racing action in the northeast and a great fireworks display to top it all off!
