KRAMER WILLIAMSON TOPS A THIRTY CAR FIELD TO EARN 64TH CAREER URC WIN
SATURDAY NIGHT AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL
DELMAR, DE . . . . . . Kramer Williamson of Palmyra, PA
scored his first URC win of 2007 and sixty-fourth career win on Saturday
night at the Delaware International Speedway in the eleventh event of
the Bar's Leaks URC Sprint Series. This event also marked the fourth
show of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Series, a mini-point
series within the season long URC point chase. Williamson led the
entire twenty-five laps to pocket the $2,000 first place prize money.
A field of thirty URC Sprints took part in the racing program with heat
race victories going to Jimmy Martin, Robbie Stillwaggon and Randy West
as Brian Seidel was the winner of the Don Ott "B" Main.
In the twenty-five lap URC sprint feature, Kramer Williamson did start
on the pole, but only after two false starts that sent the original
first two rows into a one row penalty, advancing Williamson from fifth
to the pole before the first lap was completed. At the drop of the
green flag, Kramer Williamson ran to hide from the rest of the field
with Trevor Lewis second followed by Jamie Bodo and Randy West and
Robbie Stillwaggon. On lap seven, the first caution was displayed for
Scott Pursell who came to a stop in turn one.
On the restart, Williamson gunned away from the rest of the field with
Lewis in the chase. On lap eight, the yellow came out once again, this
time for Justin Collett who stopped in turn two. When green flag racing
resumed, Williamson was again the pace setter with Lewis, Randy West,
Jamie Bodo and Curt Michael making up the top five.
At the halfway point, the top five remained unchanged but on lap
sixteen, Curt Michael moved into fourth, dropping Bodo to fifth.
As the laps ticked by, Kramer Williamson remained in control but now it
was Curt Michael on the move, racing in third on lap eighteen. With
just two laps remaining, the caution was displayed for the final time,
as Justin Barger made hard contact with the fourth turn/homestretch
fence.
The green flag fell to restart the race with just two laps remaining.
Kramer Williamson remained the leader for the final two laps and took
the win over Trevor Lewis, Curt Michael, Randy West and Jamie Bodo..
Making up the top ten were Robbie Stillwaggon, Davey Sammons, Mark
Bitner, Guy Howie, Brook Weibley.
Mike Kostic, URC Sprint car driver that was involved in a wild crash
last Saturday night, expressed his appreciation to the may URC
competitors who helped him last week following his crash. Kostic posted
a $100 cash bonus to those drivers finishing fifth, tenth and fifteenth
in the feature.
LikeWise Construction Fast Time of the Night went to Brian Seidel.
The Fred's Trailer Parts Center Hard Charger Award- - Davey Sammons for
