The Mohawk Racing Parts and Accessories Pro-Stock Series is set to start at Cornwall on Sunday, July 1st
Cornwall, ON June 30, 2007 - The Pro-Stock series proudly sponsored by Mohawk Racing Parts and Accessories is starting this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway and will be the first of four events. The series will then continue at Frogtown on Saturday, July 7. Edelweiss will be the host of the third race on Friday, August 3rd and the series will be ending at Cornwall on Sunday, August 19. Events at Cornwall and Edelweiss will be 50 laps distance and at Frogtown, it will be 35.
Last year, Joey Ladouceur was crowned the champion by a two point margin 312 vs 310 over Louie Jackson. Ladouceur had won the Frogtown race and finishing second in the other two events while Jackson had won the races at Cornwall and Edelweiss. The last event at Cornwall was cancelled because of bad weather. Clayton Benedict, was third with 275 points and a tied for fourth spot between Roch Aubin and Dave Bissonnette with 231 points.
An average of 18 cars per race took part in the three event and we expect to get even better numbers for the 2007 series with new faces in the Pro-Stock categories. You can expect to see defending champion Joey Ladouceur to be at every race along with drivers like Jackson, Benedict, Lebrun, Gauvreau, the Peters brothers and other great drivers.
With the quality of driver in the field we should expect to have some great racing at every track and it all starts at Cornwall on Sunday, July 1st. Do not miss it!
