Bloomquist, Moran lead World of Outlaw Late Models into Attica

By Brian Liskai

ATTICA, Ohio (Sunday, July 1, 2007) - Throw in a touch of Scott Bloomquist, a smidgeon of "The Million Dollar Man" Donnie Moran, add Josh "Kid Rocket" Richards, Rick Eckert, Shannon Babb, Steve Francis, Darell Lanigan and a host of the world's best late model drivers, stir it all up and you have the ingredients for an exciting night of racing in the first ever appearance of the World of Outlaws Late Models at Attica Raceway Park on opening night of the the National Interstate Insurance Speedweek on Wednesday, July 25.

"These are the best late model drivers in the country competing for a lot of money...this will be one of the most exciting events in the 20-year history of Attica Raceway Park," commented Rex LeJeune, Operations Manager at ARP.

The $7,000 to win, 40-lapper will have many incentives for the Ohio race teams and drivers competing at "Ohio's Finest Racing" venue. The National Interstate Insurance Company will be putting up $1,000 to the top three highest finishing drivers or teams, paying $500 for the highest, $300 for the second highest and $200 for the third highest. Another $1,000 bonus will go to the top three highest Ohio drivers or teams in the four race speedweek point standings paying $500 for the highest, $300 for the second highest and $200 for the third highest in points. Also, a $500 bonus will be awarded for each race to the highest finishing non-Outlaw not in the top 12 in the season point standings who has not won a World of Outlaws Late Model event.

The July 25 event at Attica Raceway park will feature just the late models, with pit gates opening at 4 p.m. and main grandstand gates opening at 5 p.m. Racing will begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for teens 11-15, and, as always, kids 10 and under get in free. Pit passes will be $35.
