The Brighton Automotive Mid Season Championship, scheduled for June 30th was cancelled due to rain. “The downpour started one hour too late. Had it finished raining by 6pm we may have had a better chance of getting some of the water packed into the racing surface. The only winner tonite is indeed Mother Nature,” said track staff Brett Minaker. The Mystical Distributing Fireworks, and the Tim Horton’s Kid’s Club photos with favourite drivers will all be rescheduled.
Scheduled as the next race event is the Clintar Groundskeeping presentation of the Southern Ontario Sprints. Green flag flies at 7:00pm on Saturday July 7th. This race night will include the Crabby Joe’s Belleville, Mister Signz Pure Stock Triple Crown Race #2. There will be no Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks as they head to Edelweiss for racing action on Friday Night. Also racing Friday night are the Bill’s Johns Comp 4’s, as they adventure onto pavement at Kawartha Speedway. The Pavement vs Dirt dual will wrap up later on the season when they become guests at Brighton Speedway. For more information, visit www.brightonspeedway.com.
