Center Lisle, NY --- The stands were packed, the track was in pristine
condition, and the kids were being treated to a great night of coloring
contests, clowns, and bike giveaways. All things seemed in order, as
the
heat races fired off in a timely fashion, but with only two heat races
left,
down came the rains. After an hour rain delay, track promoter Dick
Stark
called it a night with the racing surface being lost to the constant
downpour. Since all the heat races were not completed, the show is not
deemed a complete show, and all the fans can hang onto their ticket
stubs
and pit passes for a rain check to another regular show.
This Wednesday, July 4th, Thunder Mountain Speedway will be the only
show in
the state, so gather up the family and come on down for a great night
of
racing action. The show will feature a headlining $2000 to win
Modified
Short Track Super Nationals Qualifier, as well as a $750 to win
Sportsman
STSN Qualifier, Hurricane Street Stocks will do battle with the top 3
finishers garnering a “Hurricane” Harry Uhl Jr. Street Stock
Memorial spot,
a Fulton Victoria spot, and a STSN Qualifying position respectively.
Also
on tap are the Road Warriors and Road Bandits, with both divisions also
racing for a STSN Qualifying spot. All of this racing action along
with a
spectacular fireworks extravaganza is brought to you by Hart’s
Logging of
Bainbridge, NY. The gates will open at 3PM, with the show getting
underway
at 5PM.
Saturday, July 7th, will be a regular 6-class card along with a $400 to
win,
50 lap, 4 & 6 Cylinder Enduro. It’s going to be a Hawaiian themed
night at
the speedway, so be sure to break out the Hawaiian garb, as all the
track
workers will be sure to be decked out as well. “The Cardiac Kid”
Nick Stark
will host a best costume contest, so don’t hold back folks. A prize
will be
awarded to the winner. This show gets underway at our regularly
scheduled
time of gates at 4:30PM, and racing getting underway at 6:30PM.
