Shinnston WV’s Josh Richards grabbed his first ever Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway win in the Red Miley Memorial 53 in the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Late Models. Richards, a current World Of Outlaw regular, has always considered Pittsburgh one of his home tracks, but never could quite put it all together for the win. Chub Frank another World Of Outlaw regular and former Pittsburgher 100 winner grabbed the early lead from his outside front row starting spot. Richards and Bart Hartman jumped in right behind into second and third. A number of cautions in the early going kept the field close. But as the race started going Frank, Richards, and Hartman set a torrid pace. Hartman got by Richards at one point, only to have a yellow negate the pass. Richards took the lead on lap 9 and Hartman got by Frank a few laps later. Unfortunately Hartman suffered a flat on lap17 to take him out of the top three, he did return but only ran a few more laps before calling it a night. This moved Dave Wade into third. Richards maintained a short lead over Frank just before the ½ way fuel stop. On that restart Richards began to pull a bit of a lead, and Dave Wade who moved into third began to challenge Frank. Richards began to put some lapped cars between him and Frank. A yellow on lap 41 closed the field up and allowed Frank one more shot at Richards. Frank found new life running the high groove and began to challenge Richards on the restart. Tim Hitt driving the Steve Wilmouth #13 moved into third passing Wade. Richards and Frank pair battled for the next 11 laps before they started to run into lapped traffic. Richards was finally able to use a lapped car to his advantage and pulled away slightly from Frank. However Frank was able to close in again on the last lap but Richards was up to the challenge and take the win. Third went to Tim Hitt, in his first start in a racecar in almost two years, as he put on a wild charge to the front after starting in 27th in the main. Dave Wade ended up fourth with last week’s winner Jared Miley running a solid race to finish fifth. Steve Baker battled a loose racecar to finish sixth, with Davey Johnson making a run from the tail to finishing seventh. Al Atallah recovered from a flat tire that was discovered on the fuel stop. Atallah had a strong run going as he came from 20th up to fourth and looked like he was going to challenge the leaders. Ben Miley was 9th (in his new white and Pink #99), and Dennis Neiderriter was tenth. The heats for the 36 cars on hand went to Josh Richards, Chub Frank, Bart Hartman and Steve Baker. The B-Main saw Boom Briggs recover to grab the win after tagging the back straight wall in his heat.

In the Brougher’s Machine Shop Crate Late Models, Pittsburgh PA’s Pete Loria picked up his first win of the season, his first since April 22 of last season. Loria grabbed the lead on the first lap and battled Leo Stadelman for most of the distance. Stadelman passed Loria after the half way point going down the back straight, only to get in the loose stuff off turn four giving the lead back to Loria. A late race caution closed the field up, and put Kyle Lukon and Daryl Charlier on the tails of the two leaders. On the restart, both Charlier and Lukon made moves on the two leaders but to no avail. On the last lap Stadelman gave it one more shot, and had a run on the outside, but Loria held him off. At the finish it was Loria, Stadelman, Charlier, Mike Pegher (in only his second start in the Crates), Laura Lukon, Kyle Lukon (who hit the wall coming for the checker and lost several spots), Bill Westlake, Bryant Hanks, Bruce Takach, and Rocky Kugel. Laura Lukon won her career first heat win and became the first female to win in the class. Bruce Takach won the other heat.

Adena OH’s Mike Basich won his second Miley Truck Rental E-Mod feature. Basich grabbed the lead at the start and led the entire distance. Kevin Miler ran second while brother Chris Basich was third followed by J.E. Stalder, who came from the tail after a lap 8 spin. Chuck Kennedy was fifth followed by J.J. Bametzrieder, invader Andre Layfield, Stush Sadowski, Shawn Scheerbaum, and Willy Briggs. Mike Basich and Dave Groves grabbed the heats, but Groves did not start the feature for some reason. Clayton Kennedy flipped his modified on the 8th lap.

Jason Fosnaught made his first start in the Sunoco Race Fuels Pure Stocks and was looking like a sure winner pulling away to a commanding lead. However he lost a wheel with two laps to go, allowing Imperial PA’s Danny Rich in his first appearance in his own #67X to grab the win. Pat Hanley made his first start and ran a solid second followed by Nick Kocuba, Jake Simmons, Joe Anthony, Craig Kamicker, Adam Chytil, Aaron Jones, Steve Webb and Bob Betz. Jason Fosnaught also won a heat along with Nick Kocuba.

Independence PA’s Davy Lee kept his hot streak going in the Old Allegheny Shoppe Amateur Stocks. Bill Tennant led the early laps before Eric Goldberg took over. Goldberg held the lead until lap 9, when Lee took over. Lee held off Curt Bish to grab his 6th win of the season. Goldberg was third with Tennant in fourth followed Jarrod Weiland, Tony White, Jason Herniak, Terry Kerr, Brian Huchko and Derek Stefanick. Davy Lee took the heat race.

Dormont PA’s Dusty Curry won his sixth Imperial Heights Garage win of the season. Curry took the lead when his best rival and early leader lost a wheel and flipped going down the back straight. Mike Reft drove home second followed by Devin Tomei, Todd Janus, Tyler Fox, Sean Graham, Alec Broniszewski, and Mason.
