The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds headline the speedway card on Sunday night as the curtain officially comes down on the 2007 Cayuga County Fair. Sportsman campaigners stage a pair of main events with Mini Sprints and round four of the Soccer Moms Karmageddon filling out the July 8 show.

A gigantic FIREWORKS display caps off Terrell’s Potato Chips Night with qualifiers starting at 7 p.m., pit gates unlocking at 4 p.m. and grandstands opening to the public at 5 o’clock. The adult general admission ticket price is $12 for all regular shows, $10 for Seniors (65 yrs. plus), $5 for children (10-14 yrs.). Kids 9 years and under are free.

Sportsman points leader Shawn Donath (3 wins) continues to show the way with early season winners Joe Williams (1) and Jeremy Pitcher (2) in hot pursuit of the coveted Cayuga County crown. Fourth-place runner Tim Currier looks to join the exclusive CCFS victor lane club while second-generation standout Mike Mahaney is fifth and looks to pick up ground after scoring his first career DIRTcar Sportsman victory at The Port.

Nick Rizzo continues to pace the full-fender competition in Cayuga County as Jim Wallace and DIRTcar Racing NorthEast Region title contender Dave Mannise jockey for position in the Street Stock standings. With nearly 40 drivers listed on the points chart, the chase for supremacy in the BattleKarz ranks has turned into a family affair as Bill Werner leads Nick Warner and Karl Werner have separated themselves from the pack.

Marilou Stange will be looking to make it two straight in the fast-paced Soccer Moms Karmageddon, with Donna Haskell and Gina Cook steering their versatile vans to early season victories.

Mark your Cayuga Co. calendars now as Ferris Mowers presents Family Night on Sunday July 15, with 4 GA tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 orders of french fries and 4 soft drinks all for $40. A Kid’s Club Bike Giveaway adds to the full program of DIRTcar Racing featuring Big-Block Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds, Street Stocks and BattleKarz.

5-PAK ticket packages remain available for all regular events at Cayuga County and sister track Canandaigua (NY) Speedway. Providing a great deal for fans, each 5-PAK of tickets can be purchased for $48.00 which results in the receipt of (1) free ticket.
