5-Division Racing & 4-Division Drag Racing Together Saturday at Mercer for the 1st Time Ever!; Regular Admission Prices in Effect.

Mercer, PA.After two days off Mercer Raceway Park will swing back into action this Saturday night with a new event titled, "Stand On It" presented by Truck Rodz by Jones Performance. For the first time ever, both circle track and drag racing will be including together for the first time ever! There will be no increase in admission. It's also 4-H Night with $10 family admission for all card-carrying members. The event begins at 7 p.m.

On the racing card it will be the regular five divisions including the Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, American Racer/Lias Tire Modifieds, Tire Express Stock Cars, Big Daddy's Speed Center Mod Lites, & the M&D Paving Mini Stocks.

The drag racing will be conducted by Full Pull Productions. Four classes will be in competition including the Street Semis, 4x4 Street Licensed Gas Trucks, 4x4 Street Licensed Diesel Trucks, and an open competition class. There will be a 200-foot track on the frontstretch with Christmas tree lights and timing lights used. All four classes will have a purse payoff plus trophies to the top four finishers. The payout will be $100, 70, 50, 30 for the first three classes and $150, 100, 75, 50 for the open class, which includes un-licensed trucks, two-wheel-drive trucks, dune buggies, sand draggers, and four-wheel-drive cars. "We're always looking for new things to try," explained ninth year owner Vicki Emig. "Last year we tried a pulling event with a limited form of racing on this night. This year we decided to go with a full program of racing and try drag racing. We've worked well with Rick Feicht of Full Pull Productions on our pulling events and he offered this event to us. Fans will get a real bang for their buck plus basically anyone can participate. Depending on the turnout, we'll intermix the drag racing with our regular racing."

Rod George continues to lead the Sprint Car points in search of his second track championship. The Kittanning, Pa. driver leads Arnie Kent by 32 points and has still not finished worse than second this season. Last week, Mike Lutz won his first race at the track in over four years holding off George for the thrilling victory.

Garrett Krummert holds on to a one-point lead over Steve Young after Wednesday's Modified heat races. The New Castle, Pa. driver is still searching for his first career win. Last week, Lonny Riggs held off a determined Frank Guidace for his first win since the season-ender in 2005.

Brian Booher has pulled out to commanding 65-point lead over Andy Buckley in the Stock Cars. The Sandy Lake, Pa. racer will be looking for his fourth straight win and track-leading eighth of the year Saturday night as he's headed for his third straight championship.

Two-time winner Mark Marcucci of West Middlesex, Pa. leads Rod Jones by 12 points after Wednesday's Mod Lite heat races. In the Mini Stocks, Lucas Sprouse of Elkton, Ohio leads Leland Haylett by 26 points. The first-year division has already generated 21 cars with 15 participating each of the last two weeks.

Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. and grandstands at 4:30, hot laps are at 6:15, and racing begins at 7. Adult admission is $11. Students 6-15 are $5. Children five and under are always free. The family pass, which admits mom, dad, and up to four kids, is $25. Pit passes are $25.

Mercer Raceway Park is located minutes from both Interstate 79 and 80 just off Route 19 on Fairground Road in Mercer, Pa. Dirt track racing and quality family entertainment are presented weekly late March through early October.
