STOCK CARS ONLY ON JULY 14

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- When the Saturday Night Series returns to
Williams Grove Speedway on July 14, for one night only, things will be
just a little different.
For the first time since the days of the 200-lap enduros, there
will be a racing program at Williams Grove with no open wheel race cars
in competition.
Known for years as the sprint car capital of the East, the Grove
has recently become the home track of the super sportsman division. On
July 14, however, the sportsman cars will be at another speedway as part
of the Lawrence Chevrolet super sportsman tour. That means the pit
areas at the Grove will be filled with stock cars.
The four classes will be headlined by the limited (358 c.i.) late
models.
In five point races at Williams Grove, the limited late models have
produced four different winners with 21-year old Tyler Armstrong the
only driver to repeat thus far in 2007.
Armstrong's last victory resulted when he took the lead for the
first time just a few feet from the finish line.
Other division winners include Tyler Hershey, former limited sprint
driver Gene Knaub and Larry Baer.
The 16-year old Hershey leads the Malco Landscape point standings
with 1410, and he is followed by Armstrong, 1270, Bobby Beard and Knaub
1240, Baer 1200, Mike Walls 1175, Jake Lettich 1130, Dave Sokoloski
1095, Mike Spangler 1070, and Pat Beard 1060.
In addition to the limited late models, street stocks, 4-cylinder
stock cars and enduro stocks will also be on the July 14 card.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 7:00, and Miller Racing
parts will sponsor the program.
The super sportsman cars will be back to headline the next Saturday
Night Series event on July 28.
Remaining SNS dates include August 4, August 11, August 25 and
September 7.
