In the Brians Tire Repair it was Rick Beales in the TC Decaled car that captured the checkered flag on Port Colborne Sailors Presents Firefighter appreciation night at The New Humberstone Speedway Sunday night. Beales who had to fight off the current point’s leader Brad Sheehan for the win. Excellent run for the rookie Streetstock driver Bill Bleich Jr, who sat comfortable in 3rd the entire race, letting the top two fight it off and while a battle for 4th was happening behind him. Top 5 were Rick Beales, Brad Sheehan, Bill Bleich Jr, Jason Fonatine and Cody McPherson. (Heat winners were Cody McPherson and Vince Fargnoli)
In a tensioned filled Cosco Haulage sportsman race it was Greg Panunte who eventually came out on top. Greg Panunte took over the lead from fellow veteran Bill Bleich on lap 7 and was able sit comfortably in the 1st place spot for the rest of the laps. Heartbreaking caution for our 2006 points champion Dave Dykstra, a caution caused by a spin out of Rob Knapp in turn 2, with no where to go Dave Dykstra hit the Knapp car head on, causing possible front end damage. Top 5 were Greg Panunte, Wayne Conn, Ken Winfield, Bill Bleich, and Travis Braun. (Heat winners were Bill Bleich, Greg Panunte and Darren Peters) (Consi Winner was Rob Knapp)
In the Kendall Oil Ministock division it was the 67S of James Small who was able to take the victory lap. In the caution free 15 lap events it was Small who took the lead on lap 4 from rookie Damian Gore. The 10S of Dave Small making his way thru the crowd and eventually in the position to challenge his son for the lead with Aaron Wiley right behind him. Top 5 James Small, Dave Small, Aaron Wiley, Brandon Iudiciani, Chris Laskey. (Heat winners were Damian Gore and Brandon Iudiciani)
It was original J.Low, John Low who captured the checkered flag in the Niagara Auto Sales Truck Division. Top 5 John Low, Rob Anthes, Jesse Penner, Kevin Aube, Jim Tufford (Heat winners were Jesse Penner and John Low)
Paul Klager had a great weekend, winning at Merrittville Speedway on Saturday night, and winning at Humberstone Speedway on Sunday night while celebrating his daughters’ birthday on Sunday also. Top 5 Paul Klager, Shawn Sliter, Jordan Curran, Jason Corless, 19. (Heat winners were Paul Klager)
The Weekend Warriors Division it was Yens Mortensen who captured the checkered flag.
16 Minivans were out Sunday night for The New Humberstone Speedways Minivans Demo Derby. Racers Rob Knapp, Kevin Kocarik and Rick Beales were all out trying their hand in the demo. The demo was won by Ed Dymtro.
