FULTON, NY – Two of Fulton Speedway’s biggest 2007 season sponsors will be highlighted this Saturday July 14 with the stock car races at Fulton Speedway on Novelis / Ferris Industries Night. In race competition on the fast 3/8-mile clay oval will be the DIRTcar Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman, Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman, UMP Pro Stocks, UMP Street Stocks, and 4-Cylinder Enduros. Race time at the “Home of the 22nd Annual Victoria 200” is set for 7pm.
In the headline DIRTcar Modified division, drivers will battle wheel to wheel for the $1,500 winner’s share in the huge 35-lap main event this Saturday. Looking for the popular feature win will be point leader Jimmy Phelps, Alan Johnson, Dale Planck, Brian Weaver, Kevin Bates, Chad Phelps, Tom Sears, and possible invaders. Phelps currently leads the standings over Johnson by 42 points.
Chris Hile is the current DIRTcar Sportsman divisional point leader, with Jeremy Pitcher, John Pietrowicz, Shawn Donath, and Sammy Reakes all within close reach. The battle for the seasonal point title is surely going to go down to the last week in the ultra-competitive class. The Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman division has been a battle between point leader Timmy Sears Jr., Sean McCarthy, Brad Godshalk, and Mike Fowler each week.
Jason Parkhurst leads the UMP Pro Stock division over Billy Clark Jr., Jack Terrell, Dick Parkhurst, and Dale Guernsey. Both Jason Parkhurst and Clark have three wins each, with Rusty Marsden becoming a new winner recently. Ron Hawker has been on a tear recently in the UMP Street Stocks with three straight wins, but second place point driver Jim Wallace is looking for his first ever win. Mark Johnston currently holds a comfortable lead in the 4-Cylinder Enduro class over Jerry Herbert and Jon Shumway.
Ferris Industries is the official lawn mower provider of both the Fulton Speedway and Brewerton Speedway, an association of many many years. The speedway grounds at both tracks are manicured weekly with Ferris mowers. Novelis along with Fulton Speedway and Brewerton Speedway are teaming up in 2007 to help raise funds to build a Habitat for Humanity home in Oswego County solely from aluminum can redemption. Race fans can bring their aluminum cans to both speedways to be entered in weekly prize drawings for a Haro Bike from Doyle’s Bike Shop, race tickets, gifts, and much more.
Admission prices this Saturday July 14 on Novelis / Ferris Industries Night at the high banked track are $12 for Adults, $5 for Ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are free of charge with a paid adult.
