Thunder Mountain Reschedules "King of the Mountain" for Friday, September 14th

Posted by Tom Ames  |  07/11/07

CENTER LISLE, NY --- This season, Thunder Mountain management rekindled
the
fire, that was the “King of the Mountain” Modified special, by
bringing it
back the to the Center Lisle 3/8 mile clay oval. This 75 lap, big
money
event, was originally scheduled for Sunday, September 2nd, but with an
opening in the area schedules on Friday, September 14th, they decided
to
reschedule this barnburner event. This move will allow the Southern
Tier
regulars, as well as some of the DIRT Motorsports hot shoes to try
their
hand at the fast track. “The Franklin Flyer” Billy Decker, Pat
Ward and the
Gypsum Wholesalers team have already given the thumbs to attend this
must
see event. It is likely to see an influx of the likes of Jeff Strunk,
Joey
Grammes, Mike Gular, and the list goes on. Also slated for this Friday

night will be the Hurricane Street Stocks, 8-cylinder Road Warriors,
and
4-cylinder Road Bandits. The Hurricane Street Stocks will square off
in a
20-lap, “Hurricane” Qualifier. This will be one of the last
chances for to
garner a coveted qualifying spot for the $1455 to win Hurricane Street
Stock
special. Camping is available, and is free to those that would like to
do
so. It is going to be a huge weekend for dirt track racing, with big
shows
going on all weekend at such places as Penn Can Speedway, Skyline
Raceway,
and the Utica-Rome Speedway. What better way to kick off the weekend
than
by attending Thunder Mountain Speedway, where action is the attraction!
