July 10, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Mercer, PA).Mercer Raceway Park will look to complete the seventh straight night of racing this Saturday night, July 14. On the card will be the Luxaire Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, American Racer/Lias Tire Modifieds, Big Daddy's Speed Center Mod Lites, the M&D Paving Mini Stocks, and the Tire Express Stock Cars in the Steve Guthrie, Jr. Memorial. It's $10 Family Night presented by Armstrong plus kids bike races will be held at intermission, and it's Dean Dairy Corp. Night.

The fourth of five scheduled $10 Family Nights presented by Armstrong will admit mom, dad and as many accompanying kids 15 and under for the big night.

The kids bike races will be held during intermission. They are open for kids 12 and under and helmets are required. All kids must have their parent or legal guardian sign them up to participate, which will take place behind the grandstands in the midway area from approximately 5 until 8 p.m. Ray's Racing Collectibles, Dean Dairy, and Eat 'n Park in Grove City will provide the prizes.

"We always like combining the $10 Family Nights and kids bike races together," explained owner Vicki Emig. "We always get a great turn out on these nights and it gives kids with families an added incentive to come along with our great racing action."

The Stock Cars will be featured in the inaugural Steve Guthrie, Jr. Memorial. The 20-lap feature will pay $500 to-win with an increase throughout the field and a pill draw from the heat races will determine the first 12 starting spots. Kevin Thompson will be back behind the wheel of the Steve Guthrie, Sr. #27 Stock Car. Brian Booher of Sandy Lake, Pa. leads the all drivers with seven victories this season and has a commanding 69-point lead over Rod Laskey, who is competing at the track full-time for the first time ever.

One month ago Scott Bonnell made the decision to return to Mercer Raceway Park and thus far it's paid off with two Sprint Car victories in his last four attempts; meanwhile, Rod George of Kittanning, Pa. suffered his first DNF of the season and first time out of the top two finishing spots for that matter last Saturday night. Arnie Kent has climbed back into the point race in search of his first ever track championship and trails George now by only 23 points.

After going a year and half without a win, Lonny Riggs made it two-in-row last Saturday night in the Modifieds and has worked his way into fifth place in points. Garrett Krummert of New Castle, Pa. has been consistent all season long and leads the points by just two over Steve Young despite never winning a feature in his career. Despite missing the second event of the season, Brad Rapp has advanced up to third in points just five points back. Last year, Frank Guidace missed a night, but came back to win the championship. Guidace has finished second to Riggs the last two weeks in search of his first win of the season.

Rod Jones of West Middlesex, Pa. won for his division-leading sixth time to take back the point lead in the Mod Lites, which he lost earlier this season after flipping his car and missing the following race. Jones has an 18-point lead over Todd Canter, who has been close all season to his first ever Mercer win.

Five-time winner Lucas Sprouse of Elkton, Ohio holds down a 21-point lead over Lucas Sprouse in the Mini Stocks. Bill Fuchs has come on strong of late scoring two wins in the last three races.

Regular admission prices are in effect Saturday with adults just $11, students 6-15 $5, children five and under free, family passes $10, and pit passes $25. Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. with grandstands at 4:30, hot laps at 6:15, and racing at 7.
