By Martin Bélanger
CORNWALL, On – Sunday July 15, 2007, it was looking good with nearly than 100 cars in the pits and the stands were full. A first cell of rain past through the speedway during the hot laps and with the help of many drivers helped the track maintenance to get the surface back in racing conditions. The rookie class were able to get their heat races in but a thunderstorm hit the track at around 9:30pm to force the officials to cancel and postpone the remainder of the race program.
The Empire Super Sprints show has been postponed to Sunday August 19th. We ask everyone to keep their ticket stub, as they will be good for this show. It is the fifth time that Cornwall has to cancel or postpone a program in 2007.
Do not miss next week, as it is the makeup date for the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino International Big Block show. All the big names of the DIRT circuit will be in Cornwall, the Hearn, Johnson, Planck, Decker, Fuller and other will be here to battle against our local drivers into a 100 laps distance event, which have a purse of $40,000. Time trials are schedule to start at 6pm with the first heat at 7pm.
