WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (July 14) – The Deery Brothers Summer Series
takes a third shot at getting in a date at 34 Raceway, when the tour
for IMCA Sunoco Late Models travels to West Burlington on Tuesday,
July 17.
Series dates at 34 were rained out on April 14 and again May 15. IMCA
Sunoco Stock Cars have been added to next week’s program and will
chase national, Jet Racing Northern Region and Smiley’s Racing
Products state points.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing begins
at 7 p.m.
Jeremy Grady of Story City owns three tour wins so far and will tote
a 15 point advantage over Marshalltown’s Darrel DeFrance into the
Tuesday show, the 11th of 16 events on the 2007 series schedule.
Boone McLaughlin of Mediapolis, Terry Neal of Ely and Andy Nezworski
of Buffalo round out the current top five in points.
The 21st annual Deery Series travels to Hawkeye Downs Speedway in
Cedar Rapids on Aug. 8, the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway in Des
Moines on Aug. 13, and Quincy, Ill., Raceway on Sept. 2 before
headlining the opening night program on Sept. 3 during the IMCA
Speedway Motors Super Nationals at Boone Speedway.
Late Models return to 34 Raceway for the series finale on Sept.
14-15, racing for $10,000 to win at the Pepsi USA Nationals.
