Felmlee and Dellinger Score Sixth Victories of Season, Riffe Notches First of Career on 11th Night of Racing at Sharon Speedway
Del Rougeux chalks up fourth win in modifieds, Stein wins in Limited Sprints

HARTFORD, Ohio; July 14, 2007 - With a full evening of action in the books at Sharon Speedway, Bob Felmlee (Sprints), Del Rougeux (Modifieds), Alan Dellinger (E-Mods), Randy Riffe (Stocks) and Nate Stein (Limited Sprints) traveled to victory lane in the Fantastic Five's 11th racing night of 2007 at Sharon Speedway.

Bob Felmlee drove to victory lane for the sixth time this season in the Warren Harley-Davidson Sprint feature. Bob Lime and Troy Little were on the front row in the finale. Little snagged the early edge on the high side of Turn Two. Felmlee, who rolled off sixth, quickly found his way to second before the cars entered the third turn on lap No. 1. Felmlee wasted little time before he took the lead from Troy Little. The move came in the form of a powerful run on the cushion in Turn Three on the third circuit. Felmlee jetted out to a substantial edge quickly after taking the lead. With five laps on the board, Felmlee led Little, Dan Shetler, Kevin Schaeffer and Lime. Felmlee's edge grew to nearly one straightaway with seven laps in the books. The battle was brewing for second behind Felmlee as the race approached the halfway point. Shetler was all over the No. 20AU machine of Australian native Little, but was unable to get past when he made an attempt on the inside of Turn Four on lap No. 17. Shetler repeated the maneuver two laps later. The second time was a charm for Shetler, as he made his No. 98 machine stick on the bottom side of Turn Four to move into second position. All this jockeying took place behind Felmlee, who was well on his way to his sixth feature victory at Sharon in 2007. Felmlee capped off a dominating performance with flawless driving through lapped traffic. The race featured 25 consecutive laps of green flag running. Shetler crossed the line in second, with Little third, Schaeffer fourth and Lime fifth. Felmlee and Mike Kekich scored wins in the heat races.

In the Tom's Sewer and Drain Service Pure Stock 15-lap finale, Randy Riffe notched his first career victory in a wild race. Tony Spaghetti and Riffe were the front row starters for the 11th stock feature of the season. Before a lap was in the record books, a multi-car incident evolved in Turn Four, with Mike Alley getting the worst of the tangle. Aley propelled over a tire and ultimately flipped. Fortunately, Aley was uninjured. When the race restarted, Spaghetti led the field out of Turn Two with a flapping deck lid. Steve D'Apolito slotted into second, but found trouble on the third circuit. Randy Riffe, who was third at the time, slightly tapped the No. 84 of D'Apolito, causing him to spin. The lap three incident sent D'Apolito to the tail of the field. Meanwhile, Spaghetti maintained his edge over Riffe, Stan Woomer, Gary Robinson and Tom Miller as the field circulated for the fifth time during the event. Robinson was the man on the move as he powered to third spot on lap No. 7. Back at the front, Riffe took the lead away from Spaghetti on a lap nine restart with a savvy move on the inside of Turn Three. However, Riffe was unable to pull away from the pack. With five laps remaining, Riffe was the leader, with Spaghetti second and Robinson third right on his bumper. Despite a host of late yellow flags, Riffe held off a late charge from an aggressive Robinson. Riffe took the checkered flag for the first time in his racing career, which began in 1999. Riffe's machine had a broken left front suspension in the final laps, but was able to hold on. Robinson crossed the line in second, with Spaghetti third, Woomer fourth and Tom Miller fifth. Larry Root, Woomer and Bruce Redmond won the heat races.

Del Rougeux outdueled Rob Kristyak and Russell King to take the 25-lap Gibson-Governor Insurance Modified thriller. Front row starters Daniel Taylor and Doug Fleeger paced the field to the green. Taylor took advantage on the start to take the early lead. Before the caution flag flew after one lap, Taylor led Russell King, who started fourth. Russell King did not stop in second. On a lap two restart, King hooked his No. 56 machine on the cushion to take the lead as the field exited Turn Two. With five circuits on the board, Russell King led Rougeux, Kristyak and Taylor. Rougeux took a page out of Russell King's book on a restart prior to the completion of the eighth lap, as he powered around the No. 56 machine to take the lead out of Turn Four while riding the cushion. A great three-car battle evolved at the sharp end of the order between Rougeux, Russell King and Kristyak. While Russell King found the bottom to his liking, Rougeux and Kristyak rode the cushion. The three cars battled wheel-to-wheel for most of the final 10 laps. Russell King was all over the rear bumper of Rougeux while working the bottom of the speedway. Russell King showed his nose under the No. 20D machine of Rougeux, but he held off the lap 20 charge. The two drivers raced side-by-side for the entire 22nd lap, with Russell King all over Rougeux. All of the jockeying at the front allowed Kristyak to join the scruff for the lead. After a slight slipup in lapped traffic, Kristyak was able to overtake Russell King. The final circuit saw Rougeux slightly edge the No. 00 machine of Kristyak at the line, as he took his fourth victory of the season, and his second in as many weeks. Russell King finished third. Rex King, Jr. drove a steady race to finish fourth, with Andy Priest rounding out the top five. Russell King and Kristyak won the heat races.

Alan Dellinger scored his sixth win of the year after 15 laps in the Coy Brothers Trucking E-Mod feature. Richard Stiffler and Shawn Shingledecker occupied the top two starting positions at the start of the race, with Stiffler taking the initial lead. Misfortune for Stiffler sent Bob McCann to the lead. The hard charger in the early laps was Alan Dellinger, who rolled off 12th. Before five laps were completed, Dellinger wheeled his No. 53 machine to second spot behind McCann. The field was halted on the sixth lap with a spin in Turn Two. This allowed Dellinger to get on the bumper of McCann. Dellinger caught the cushion in Turn One and then dipped to the bottom of Turn Two to take the lead away from McCann before the cars entered Turn Three. Dellinger built a substantial lead after making his move. With 10 circuits on the scoreboard, Dellinger led Shingledecker, McCann, Paul Phillips and Dwayne Clay. The action on the 10th lap took place in the battle for fourth spot as Clay tagged the rear of Phillips, sending both cars to the rear of the line. Despite the yellow flag, Dellinger remained the car to beat, just as he has been for the past three weeks. Fourth spot remained a tough position to hold down, as Steve Haefke found his way there just after the restart. However, that was short-lived because he spun in Turn Three before the lap was completed. After 12 laps, the top three remained the same - Dellinger, Shingledecker and McCann. James Turley and Bob Diver were the beneficiaries of the chaos in the middle of the top 10, as they took fourth and fifth, respectively. The finish appeared to be yet another triumph for Dellinger, but Shingledecker wanted none of that, as he caught Dellinger on cold tires following a restart on lap No. 13. Shingledecker made the pass for the top spot on the bottom of Turn Two. However, Dellinger stayed cool and came right back on the 14th lap with a move on the Turn Four cushion to take the lead right back. He went on to take his third consecutive feature, and his sixth of the season. Shingledecker finished second, with McCann third, Turley fourth, who started 13th, and Diver fifth. Shingledecker and Dellinger were the heat race winners.

In the final feature of the night, Nate Stein drove into victory circle after taking the checkered flag in the Limited Sprint division's 15-lap race. Kyle Layton and Jack Whitmore were the front row starters for the feature. Layton led the first lap after the field did a four-wide salute for Layton's late father Dave prior to taking the green flag. Stein grabbed the lead away from Layton on the second lap on the high side of Turn Four. Guy Griffin followed Stein with a move of his own on Layton to take third position. At the midway point of the feature, Stein held a one straightaway edge ahead of Griffin. A battle for second between Griffin and Jason Scoville evolved on the ninth lap. Scoville took the spot on the bottom of the speedway. All this took place behind a streaking Stein, who cruised to his second feature win of the season. Scoville crossed the finish line second, with Eric Williams fourth and Brandon Spithaler fifth. Griffin won the only heat race.
