July 18 Indee Open Series event falls to rain

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (July 18) - After a day of drying conditions following steady rains Monday night into Tuesday morning, Wednesday afternoon showers forced officials to cancel the July 18 Indee Open Series event at Independence Motor Speedway.

Originally scheduled to kick off the 2007 Buchanan County Fair, it has yet to be determined if the event will be rescheduled. Those details will be made available in the near future.

Next up at the speedway is the 1st annual Dick Frye Memorial on Saturday, July 21. I.M.C.A.-sanctioned late models, modifieds, stock cars and hobby stocks, along with unsanctioned B modifieds, will compete in weekly points racing during the fair. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing scheduled to begin at 6:30.
