FANtastic Five and Christmas in July Slated for Saturday at Sharon Speedway
Admission $11 for adults, $5 for kids, under 11 are free


HARTFORD, Ohio; July 18, 2007 - The FANtastic Five divisions will return to Sharon Speedway's 3/8-mile dirt oval on Saturday for their 12th show of the season on Christmas in July night, which will feature prizes and giveaways all evening long. The night will be sponsored by SRE Doors and Hardware Inc. and Mel Grata Toyota.



Santa will be making his annual visit to Sharon Speedway with a wide array of gifts for the fans in attendance. The speedway will show its appreciation for the valued fans who visit the track on a regular basis by holding a Christmas in July raffle with more than $2,000 worth of gifts. The gifts include various electronic devices, NASCAR memorabilia and a variety gift cards. For a complete list of the giveaway items, visit www.sharonspeedway.com.



Upon entry into the speedway, all fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a raffle ticket with automatic entry into the prize drawing. The winning numbers will be called throughout the night.



On the racetrack, Bob Felmlee extended his points lead in the Warren Harley-Davidson Sprint Car standings by scoring his sixth feature win on Saturday. Del Rougeux did the same in the Gibson-Governor Insurance Modifieds, as he cruised into victory circle for the fourth time this year. Alan Dellinger notched his sixth victory of the season in the Coy Bros. Trucking E-Mod feature on Saturday, but holds down fifth in the points. Howard Fraley rests at the top of the standings.



Steve D'Apolito is the man sitting at the top of the order in the Tom's Sewer and Drain Service Pure Stock standings. Randy Riffe is the most recent winner in the stock division after he scored his first career victory on Saturday. In the Limited Sprints, Guy Griffin holds a sizeable lead in the points after 11 races. Nate Stein notched the feature win on July 14.



Tickets for Saturday evening's show will be available at a price of $11 for adults (16 and older), $5 for kids (12-15) and free for children 11 and younger. Pit passes are $22, and the pit gate opens at 3 p.m.



Saturday will also be a "Two for $2" night. Fans who bring two non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank this Saturday will receive $2 off the price of an adult general admission ticket. A representative will collect the food outside the gate from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. only. Everyone who donates two food items will receive a $2 coupon to present at the ticket window, bringing the price of an adult general admission ticket to just $9. All non-perishable food items are accepted, but canned meats, canned vegetables, tuna and peanut butter are needed most.

Just around the corner for Sharon Speedway will be the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on July 28. Also, the "NASCAR Duel on the Sharon Speedway Dirt" featuring a $5,000 to win open sprint car feature and a $1,000 to win e-mod feature is slated for Tuesday, Aug. 14. The e-mod race will include NASCAR stars Dave Blaney, Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer and potentially more NASCAR drivers to be confirmed at a later date.
