Midwest All Star Series Points Race Heats Up with Return to Spoon River Saturday.
The O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series brings its spectacular brand of
winged sprint car racing back to Spoon River Speedway Saturday night,
July 21^st , returning to the scene of the series’ official debut and
one of its most exciting races of the season.
Jerrod Hull held off Tim Montgomery and Rob Standridge to win on June
9^th at the high-banked, super-fast 3/8^th mile yellow clay oval and the
competition has been fast and furious ever since. While Hull continues
to lead the point standings through five races, Standridge has closed
the gap to fifty-two points. Twenty year-old A.J. Bruns, who picked up
two feature wins outside the series last weekend as well as having a
second-place finish with the series last Sunday at Mt. Vernon, is the
hottest driver on the tour. Tim Montgomery, Ryan Buntin and the rest of
the “Best of the Midwest” will be gunning for their first series win in
what will be an action-packed night of wheel-to-wheel, edge-of-your-seat
excitement.
The Midwest All Star Series events have played host to over eighty
different sprint car teams though its first five events. With another
outstanding field expected to attend this Saturday, this will be a
“must-see” night of sizzling summer racing fun.
Grandstand admission is only $15 for this can’t-miss sprint car
extravaganza, with pit passes at $30. In addition to the winged sprint
cars, the track will race its weekly divisions of late models, modified,
hornets and trucks. Sprint Car time trials will start at 6:30 with
racing at 7:00 pm.

Midwest All Star Series to Allow 1" Wickerbill for Remainder of 2007
Concord Inn & Suites Official Lodging Partner for Spoon River*
The O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series has announced a rule modification that
will allow teams to use top wings witha 1" wickerbill for the remainder of the
2007 racing schedule.
According to Series Coordinator Steve Libby, " Due to the addition of many new
teams racing with the series who are using older wings with the built-in
wickerbill, we will allow all teams to race with a 1" wickerbill for the
remainder of the season. This will allow teams competing with the series to
use what they currently have in inventory, thus keeping the cost to the
raceteams down. The series is growing by leaps and bounds, with over eighty
teams competing thus far in Midwest All Stars events and we believe that we
need to work with these loyal grass-roots local and regional racers to help
them compete at each event and avoid any excess costs.
