Daggett Continues ASCS Sprints on Dirt Hot Streak at Hartford


T.J. Buffenbarger, HARTFORD, Mich. (July 20, 2007) – Dustin Daggett won his sixth Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz feature event Friday night at Hartford Speedway Park. Daggett held off challenges from Gary Fast to win his third feature at Hartford in the Phil Mott owned Gaerte powered Maxim chassis.

“I thought we would see Gary a bit more, he’s really running well” said Daggett in victory lane. “I think the caution flags helped us out some with the lapped traffic.”



After the top six in passing points drew for the first six starting positions, Daggett drew the pole with Fast on the outside. The duo raced side by side into turns one and two with Daggett getting the advantage. Fast kept Daggett in his sights, but every time the lead cars got into slower traffic the caution flag came out.

During each restart Daggett stretched his advantage and used a lapped car between himself and Fast during the last restart to secure the victory. Fast held on for second while Ben Rutan made a series of three wide moves through the pack to take the third spot. Gregg Dalman and Tim Norman rounded out the top five.



Current Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by Victor Reinz points leader Brett Mann had his streak of top five finishes snapped at Hartford with a sixth place finish. Mann salvaged the evening finishing one spot behind second place point man Norman to only lose two points in the standings.



In heat race action Jim Lingar took a wild tumble after slamming the turn one wall. Lingar emerged from his car uninjured.
