FULTON, NY – The ultra-powered DIRTcar Modified division will return to the high banks of Fulton Speedway this Saturday July 28 on Total Site Development Night after a several week absence. Scheduled along with the exciting Modifieds in race competition are the DIRTcar Sportsman, Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman, UMP Pro Stocks, ESDCA Mod Lites, and 4-Cylinder Enduros. Racing will begin on the historic Oswego County track at 7pm sharp.
After a rainout on July 14 and a 5-Star event at Canandaigua on July 21, the headline DIRTcar Modifieds are just itching to once again hit the racey Fulton Speedway surface. Drivers will battle wheel to wheel with their Big Block machines for the $1,500 winners share in the huge 35-lap event this Saturday. Looking for the hard earned feature win will be point leader Jimmy Phelps, Alan Johnson, Dale Planck, Brian Weaver, Kevin Bates, Chad Phelps, Vinnie Vitale, Tim Sears, Jim Wiko, Roy Bresnahan, Jeremy Smith, Brett Tonkin, Tom Sears, Steve Hulsizer, and many more. Jimmy Phelps currently leads the standings over Johnson by 42 points and is looking for his first Fulton crown since the 1999 season.
Local favorite Jeremy Pitcher is the current DIRTcar Sportsman point leader and would love nothing more to win his first ever track title. Just behind Pitcher over a 30 point spread in the tight standings are Shawn Donath, Chris HIle, Sammy Reakes IV, and John Pietrowicz. In the UMP Pro Stock ranks, defending champion Billy Clark Jr. is just twelve points behind current leader Jason Parkhurst, who is also looking for his first ever championship. The two drivers appear to be the leading contenders as the season begins to wind toward conclusion.
In the ESDCA Mod Lite ranks, Dan Williams has won all five events to date in dominating fashion. Looking for their first wins of 2007 are Tim Devendorf, Lowell Zehr, Jeff Barker, and Ken Gamlen. Mark Johnston currently holds a comfortable lead in the 4-Cylinder Enduro division over Jerry Herbert and Jon Shumway. The Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman drivers will look to beat out current point leader Timmy Sears Jr. who leads Sean McCarthy, Brad Godshalk, Mike Fowler, and Katelyn Kane in the standings. The UMP Street Stock class will have the night off to support the Mr. DIRTcar Street Stock Super Series event on Saturday at Canandaigua Speedway.
