410 SPRINTS, NASCAR 358 MODIFIEDS, 600 SPRINTS, ROLLING THUNDER LEGENDS
& 600 MODIFIEDS INVADE GRANDVIEW. . . . .
THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES CONTINUES TUESDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 21
WITH 5-25'S FEATURES ONLY EVENT
One on the most popular events on the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the
Hill Racing Series will invade the Grandview Speedway as the GRANDVIEW
THUNDER 5-25's returns to the "hill" on Tuesday night, August 21st.
Five great divisions of dirt track racing will face off with each
division competing in a 25 lap feature event. To the enjoyment of many,
there will be NO time trials, NO heats races, NO consolations! NO
Qualifying events, just five awesome features all getting underway at
7:30 PM. The five featured divisions will include the popular 410
Sprints, the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, the 600 Sprints, Rolling Thunder
Legends and the 600 Modifieds. Over 100 cars will compete with more
then $32,000 in prize money up for grabs. There is more good news for
the competitors. Every driver will leave with a pay envelop, unlike
conventional racing events where un-qualified cars do not earn money.
The idea of the features only format started in 1999 as part of the
Thunder Series and began as four feature program. The feedback from
spectators was over-whelming! Most weekly racing programs begin with
at least two hours or more of qualifying or preliminary events, leading
up to the main attraction. . . . The Feature Events. On more then one
occasion, fans have been seen leaving area race tracks, sometimes just
exhausted with the qualifying and missing the best event of the night. .
. The Features.
With the Grandview THUNDER 5-25's, there is no waiting for the main
attraction, it starts with the drop of the first green flag at 7:30 PM.
The success of this format is further enhanced by a quality field of
competitors. Each division is made-up of the best twenty drivers of
their respective class. For the race fans, they'll see the "best of the
best".
Some of the early pre-entered drivers for Tuesday, August 21 include 410
Sprint Stars Todd Shaffer, Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease, Greg Hodnett and
Lucas Wolfe. In the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, look for Jeff Strunk, Duane
Howard, Craig VonDohren, MeMe DeSantis and Doug Manmiller. In the 600
Modified field, you'll see Keppler, Mady, Gardner, Newman and Stockhold.
For the Rolling Thunder Legends, expect to see Snellbaker, Dunstan,
Mayberry, Rochelle and Kistler. In the 600 Sprints, you'll see Randy
West, Mike Dicely, Josh Swavely, Jason VanDoren and Lex Burrit.
The first feature of the night will be the Rolling Thunder Legends
followed by the 600 Modifieds, 600 Sprints, 358 Modifieds and the 410
Sprints will close out this fantastic night of dirt track racing. Gates
Open at 5 PM with the first of five feature events taking the green flag
at 7:30 PM.
