The Empire Super Sprints and the Lucas Oil Canadian Invasion Series Returns to Autodromes Granby and Drummond; $2,000 to win for each Event.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A little over a month ago, the stars and cars from the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) and the tour brought to you by Jacobs Motorsports visited Autodrome Granby and Autodrome Drummond where standing room only crowds greeted the winged machines. This weekend the Lucas Oil Canadian Invasion Series makes it return with two important shows that will award the winner $2,000 and also $450 cash to take the green with the A-Mains again backed Fondations 4 Saisons.
Back in June, the man known as the “Cobra”, Chuck Hebing, took the Jeff Cook team car to his first ever victory at Granby in a wild event. Hebing will be back to defend his victory as well as Quebec favorite and defending ESS champion Alain Bergeron, Justin Barger, Cook, Tommy Wickham and Lance Yonge who finished behind Hebing’s winning machine.
The next night in June, second generation Jeff VanDusen took his own back-up car to victory at Drummond in a crowd pleasing 25 lap A-Main. It marked the first of three triumphs in a row and he comes into this weekend as the Lucas Oil point leader. Finishing behind the winning #56D were Quebec’s own Steve Poirier, who is the overall ESS point leader, Mike Stelter, Cook and Wickham. They will also be joined by Michael Parent, Bubby Kerrick, Cory Sparks, Normand Beaudreault and many others.
ESS is also proud to have on board Transport Desrosiers, Inc as the sponsor of the four lap Walt’s Hobby Dash Series event where Poirier currently leads Bergeron and Cook in the over all point series where the top three will split up $1,000 in cash.
Friday and Saturday night, Granby and Drummond, Jacobs Motorsports, Lucas Oil, Fondations 4 Saisons bring you the very best in winged sprint car action from two countries. Hang on, it’s the Empire Super Sprints and for 25 years and counting it brings you excitement guaranteed!!
