FULTON, NY – The Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series will be in action twice during the month of August with a stop at Fulton Speedway on Tuesday August 21 and at Brewerton Speedway on Tuesday August 28. The series features a simple 35-lap $2,000 to win format with Victoria 200 Rules including sail panels and any 92” by 13” Dirt Modified tire (durometering 40 or above). A tremendous field of Modifieds is expected as any engines up to 500ci are allowed on alcohol or gasoline.
The Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series which leads up to and runs the same exact rules as the $25,000 to win Victoria 200 on September 29, is a three race unsanctioned series at Fulton Speedway and a three race series at Brewerton Speedway to promote the Victoria 200. The concept is simple as points will be kept for each track and the champion of each series will become the only two guaranteed starters for the 22nd Annual Victoria 200.
Expected are many of the top names in Northeast Dirt Modified racing under this special rules package that allow as many drivers possible to compete. Invaders heading to both Brewerton and Fulton in back to back weeks on August 21 and August 28 are Danny Johnson, Billy Decker, Pat Ward, Ryan Phelps, Dale Planck, Gary Tomkins, Jim Mahaney, Matt Sheppard, Mitch Gibbs, Bobby Varin, and Robert King. Track regulars looking to hold down their home turf in the 35-lap $2,000 to win special are Alan Johnson, Jimmy Phelps, Kevin Bates, Willy Decker, Chuck Bower, Tim Sears, and Tom Sears. You never know who will show up at the speedways to prepare for the upcoming Victoria 200.
In the first Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series event held at Fulton Speedway on May 22, Pat Ward edged teammate Billy Decker by inches in a thrilling green to checker photo finish over Matt Sheppard, Alan Johnson, and Jimmy Phelps. At Brewerton Speedway on June 26, Jimmy Phelps bested Danny Johnson and Billy Decker in a thrilling battle in and out of lapped traffic. Without a doubt, this rule package and new mini-series proved to be like a walk down memory lane and popular with all the race fans.
At Fulton Speedway on Tuesday August 21, the Modifieds will be joined by the DIRT Sportsman, UMP Pro Stocks, and a 4-Cylinder Enduro. A week later on Tuesday August 28 at Brewerton Speedway, the support classes will include the ESDCA Mod Lites, 4-Cylinder Super Stocks, and 4-Cylinder Enduros.
Race time at Fulton Speedway on August 21 is 7pm, while Brewerton Speedway will go green on August 28th at 7:30pm. Admission prices are very reasonable for a mid week show for both events at $12 for Adults, $5 for ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are free with a paid adult. Pit admission is $20 for DIRT/IMCA Members and $25 for Non-Members.
