Brad Grim Returns to Five Mile Point This Week

New Tripoli, PA - Brad Grim Returns to Five Mile Point This Week
By Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media

Defending Sportsman point titlist Brad Grim returns to the Five Mile Point Speedway this week as the Sportsman division enjoyed a one week sabatical last week. Grim will be back behind the wheel of the signature numbered 611 TR Kovacs/GTS Gas Welding Supplies sponsored Dirt Wheels chassied/Davey George powered mount as he enters the competition this coming week.

It has been a somewhat frustrating 2007 racing season for the Brad Grim Racing team. In 2006, they used one car to race towards and capture the Sportsman title, and earning three wins along the way. This year the team has had two cars at it's disposal and in separate incidents, both cars have been rendered helpless on occasion. While the team has two wins for the year, success for the championship team has been slow to materialize.

The New Tripoli, Pennsylvania shop where the Brad Grim Racing Team is housed has had it's share of late night hours and midnight oil being burned this year. It is hopeful the second half the racing season is more favorable to the
team, as they hope to rebound in the points chase and remain in a position to win the title again.

In catching up with Grim he remarked, "We have done more to prepare for this year than in any other year I have been racing. The cars are good, the team is good, and our sponsors support what we do even though we race out of state. It is frustrating knowing the effort is much more and the results are less. We are just hoping for a better last-half of the season as that will allow us some redemption."

The current updated points battle shows Butch Klinger clinging to a 10 point lead over the second place Brian Puckett.
The Corporal has 626 markers to the 616 registered by Puckett. Brad Grim sits in third place with 571 points and Les Gillette will attempt to shave that down a bit more this week. Gillette has 561 points. Jerry Tonti rounds out the top five with 536 markers.

Brad Grim Racing would like to thank all of their sponsors for the tremendous amount of support they have given the team in preparing for another run at the track title this year. The list of sponsors is headed up by TR Kovacs Hauling, GTS Gas Welding Supplies, Roy's SK Tools, Queen City Tires, Uncle Nick's Candy, Wild Bill's Beef and Jim Young Race Photos. A special thanks goes out to the engine wizardry of Davey George for prepping some strong motors for the run at the title.
