VERNON , NY- This Sunday, July 29, Mirabito Fuel Group presents the popular Fan Appreciation Night featuring $5 general admission for a regular show of 358-Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, and IMCA Modifieds plus a makeup Sportsman feature from July 8. Gates will open at 3 p.m. for this week’s exciting program with racing set to go at 5:30 p.m.

With a win this past Sunday, Stewart Friesen has solidified his 358-Modified championship hopes, but two-time defending champion Willy Decker isn’t about to give up his pursuit of a three-peat. Other drivers looking to claim the title include Pat Ward, Bobby Varin, and Todd Burley plus a host of others including Ted Lamb, Gus Schmidt, Bill Shantel, Jr., Andy Bachetti, and AJ Romano. With some point heavy race nights in the coming weeks, Friesen still has his work cut out for him.

Mike Button and Danny Varin currently share the point lead in the Sportsman division and the battle between the veteran Button and youngster Varin will sure go into the final weeks of racing. Alan Barker, Jeremy Vunk, Matt Janczuk are still in the thick of the point chase, as are Brad Alger, Tim Nye, Casey Williams, Larry Wight, and Jim Rothwell.

Tom Denton holds a slim 10 point advantage over Jerry Holmes in the very competitive Pro Stocks, with Bret Belden just another 10 points back. Chris Mackey and Bill Knapp round out the top five spots while Chad Ray, AJ Digsby, Jim Normoyle, Shawn Frost, and Ed Ostander filling out the top ten.

Russ Marsden is in familiar territory, holding a firm lead in the fan favorite Pure Stock division over Chris Carr, Tim Janczuk, Jim Thomas, and Matt Ball. Chris Cunningham, Ron Hawker, Keith Stevenson, Curt Prevo, and Waylan Wilczek are the remaining top ten drivers.

In the IMCA Modifieds, Jim Roberts leads the way over Kevan Cook, Aaron Jacobs, Mike Jacobs, Ken Rogers, Dale Caswell, Chris Fleming, and Mark Chrzanowski.
