Don Spatorico wins 1st Genesee Speedway feature of 2007 as Dickinson, DuBois and Stefanski all revisit Victory Lane.

Batavia, NY—July 28, 2007--By: Chris Rhynold, Media/Racer Relations Director

Bobby Dickinson, Dave DuBois and Pete Stefanski all made another appearance in victory lane this week and Don Spatorico picks up his 1st Genesee Speedway feature win of the season. Spatorico has been on a hot streak as he has scored feature wins at Merrittville, Ransomville and Humberstone Speedway’s. Two of those wins were Lucas Oil Sportsman Shoot-Out wins.

Brandon Aradine of Bergen NY and Pat Powers of Dale NY set the front row of the Dickinson’s Auto Service Mini Stocks feature event. Aradine jumped to the early lead with Jason Hull in tow in the 2nd spot. Hull took the lead on lap 3 from Aradine before the caution lights would come on for Samantha Burch as she spun in turn 4. On the restart “The Bergen Bullet” Ken Hixenbaugh would blow by Aradine for the 2nd spot and set his sights on Hull but would give up the position as he jumped the cushion. Batavia NY native Bobby Dickinson would take the lead on lap 5 as he passed Jason Hull and began to pull away from the pack. Two time feature winner Dan Norton of Batavia reeled in the lead cars and began to battle for 2nd before the yellow would fly for Alan Kemp as he spun in turn 2. Dan Norton would take 2nd place from Jason Hull on the restart and would catch Dickinson and wait to make his move but ran out of time as Bobby Dickinson would score his 3rd feature win of the year followed by Dan Norton and Ken Hixenbaugh. Heat Winners – Heat #1 Bobby Dickinson, Heat #2 Ken Hixenbaugh

The Vintage Modifieds put on a great show with the classes mixed together for the exhibition feature. #7 Mike McLaughlin ran out on the field leaving #00 Al Harju and #23 Rob Casti battling for the 2nd spot. Casti would pass Harju for 2nd and look to chase down McLaughlin. McLaughlin’s would have his lead taken away as Ed Rohr spun coming off turn 4 on the tenth lap. Still no one would have anything for McLaughlin as he went on to win the Vintage feature. Heat Winners – Heat #1 Don Hoyt, Heat #2 Ed Rohr

The Greenlief’s Restaurant Pro Stocks saw an all Zimmerman front row to the green of the 20 lap feature event. The caution would hit the speedway on lap 1 as Brett Martin of Lockport and Mike Martin of Lockport would come together on the back stretch with Brett Martin climbing the back stretch wall. John Zimmerman of Burt NY would jump to the early lead but the speedway would go yellow again for Gasport NY racer Eric Greenlief spinning in turn 4. Steve Lewis would take the point from John Zimmerman on lap 3. Yellow would fly on lap 6 for Jeb Walworth as he broke a right rear axle. Lewis would still hold the lead with John Zimmerman and Pete Stefanski hanging with him. Stefanski would take the runner up spot from Zimmerman on lap 8. Stefanski would take it to the top side to try and pass Lewis. Lewis would power off the turns to retain his position. Don Barnes would close in on the leaders. Barnes would look to the inside of Stefanski but couldn’t get enough of a run at him to take the position. Stefanski would take the lead from Lewis on lap 15 using the top side. Caution would fly on lap 16 for Ray Smith as his #12 Monte Carlo came to a stop between turn 3 and 4. The Wheatfield NY pilot Pete Stefanski would check out on the restart and would power to his 8th Genesee Speedway feature win of the season followed by Steve Lewis and Don Barnes. Heat Winners – Heat #1 Pete Stefanski, Heat #2 Mike Martin

Batavia NY’s JJ Mazur and Pavilion NY’s Bob Babbitt would pace the BDK Construction 360 Late Models feature to the green. JJ Mazur would lead the first lap and the caution would fly as Carl Shetler would come to rest at the top of turn one. “The Outlaw” Dave DuBois would rocket to the lead on the restart as JJ Mazur would do every thing he could to hold off Batavia NY’s Jim Johnson. Caution would fly again as Bob Babbitt, Pete Waldron, Derek Boyle and Beamer Guzzardi would all come together and come to rest in turn 3. Caution would again fly on the restart as BRP Modified Tour regular Jeff Cheesbro made contact with Brian Kotarski resulting in a multi car pile up in turn 2. On the restart DuBois and Johnson would check out on the field with Johnson looking to the inside of DuBois on several occasions. As DuBois and Johnson would battle Tim Kaufmann would begin to reel in the leaders. The field would be bunched up as Josh Pangrazio would bring out his second caution of the evening. Again DuBois and Johnson would put on a show with Johnson trying to get by DuBois but came up empty handed as Dave DuBois picked up his 2nd feature win of the season followed by Jim Johnson and Tim Kaufmann. Heat Winners – Heat #1 Tim Kaufmann, Heat #2 – Jon Rivers

Stubby Pangrazio of Bergen and Rochester NY’s Rob Richmond would set the front row of the Troyer Race Cars Sportsman feature event. Pangrazio would jump to the early lead as John Venuto of Elba NY and Brockport’s Rob Pratt would bolt by Richmond as he got loose off of turn 2. Don Spatorico would look to the inside of Pratt for the 3rd spot but Pratt would hold on to the position. Pangrazio would begin to open up his lead as Lockport’s Steve Schumacher would begin to reel in the front group. As Pratt and Spatorico would battle for position John Venuto would begin to reel in Pangrazio. Spatorico would clear Rob Pratt by using the high side and closed in real fast on Venuto and wasted no time taking the runner up spot and set his sights on the leader. Pangrazio pushed his front wheels as he entered turn 3 on lap 21 and Spatorico pounced on the opportunity and stole the spot that Pangrazio owned from the drop of the green flag. Niagara Falls NY racer Don Spatorico showed that he was the fastest car in the field and scored his 1st Genesee Speedway feature win followed by Stubby Pangrazio and Rob Pratt. Heat Winners – Heat #1 Rob Pratt, Heat #2 Don Spatorico
