BREWERTON, NY – The most anticipated event of the 2007 race season at Brewerton Speedway is set for this Friday August 3 as the Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRTcar Series will roll into town for the Ferris Industires 100. Also in race action will be the World Products Empire State IMCA Modified Tour plus the ESDCA Mod Lites. In addition, the Donnie Moran Dirt Late Model Simulator will be in attendance offering race fans a chance to compare their laptimes against each other for a trophy. Race time at the Route 11 track is set for 7:30pm.
The DIRTcar Modifieds will battle all evening long as the Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRTcar Series invades Brewerton Speedway for the Ferris Industries 100. Track regulars including points leader Willy Decker, Alan Johnson, Kevin Bates, Chuck Bower, Dan Vauter, Steve Hulsizer, Roy Bresnahan, and Tom Sears will all be home track favorites to take home the $6,000 winner’s share. Defending race champion Jimmy Phelps, who already has two Brewerton wins this season, will be in top form as he tries for his first Super DIRTcar Series win of the year. Current track point leader Willy Decker is very hungry to win his first ever Super DIRTcar Series event, a win that surely would be a landmark victory.
With the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series headlining the race program, an influx of invading Modified teams will be back once again at the “D-Shaped DIRT Demon”. Brett Hearn, Tim Fuller, Steve Paine, Billy Decker, Danny Johnson, Matt Sheppard, Dale Planck, Vic Coffey, Frank Cozze, Gary Tomkins, Justin Haers, Pat Ward, Ryan Phelps, and many, many more are all expected in attendance. Former winners of the Super DIRTcar Series event at Brewerton include Jimmy Phelps, Tim McCreadie, Brett Hearn, Danny Johnson, Bob McCreadie, and Joe Plazek.
Dale Caswell continues to be the driver to beat in the IMCA Modified division even though he is just six points out of the point lead, which rival Kevan Cook holds. Pete Anderson, Greg Kimball, and Rich Riggs are also high in the points. Caswell will have his hands full as the World Products Empire State IMCA Modified Tour will be in town for a special 25-lap event. The greatest drivers from all over the Empire State and beyond will all be on hand for IMCA Modified glory. Expected are Jim Roberts, Aaron Jacobs, Lyle Smith, Bob Banks, JoJo Donato, and many more.
In the ESDCA Mod Lites, Dan Williams is way ahead of the field even though he is in somewhat of a slump the last several weeks as second place and third place Doug Williams and Tim Devendorf have won. The ESDCA Mod Lites will compete in a 20-lap feature event this Friday with drivers such as Lowell Zehr, Justin Crisafulli, and Rocco Leone all looking for their first wins of the year.
In addition to all the trackside activities, the midway at Brewerton Speedway will be full of excitement. Along with the usual Super DIRTcar Series trailers, the Donnie Moran Dirt Late Model Simulator will be on hand to give rides to race fans, which will then compete for the best laptimes of the evening. The car is a total copy of Moran’s Dirt Late Model and will surely add great excitement to the evening as race fans should plan to arrive early.
The gates this Friday August 3 at Brewerton Speedway on Ferris Industries Night for the Super DIRTcar Series event will open at 5pm with racing beginning at 7:30pm. Pit Gates will open at 4:30pm with hot laps at 6:15pm and time trials at 6:45pm. Admission prices are set at $20 for Adults, $10 for ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are $5.
