Yingling Returns to the Late Model Victory Lane at SSP; Hollinger Johns, Rehbein, Richcreek and Elliott Also Victorious

Newberrytown, PA (July 28, 2007) – Stock Car Saturday Night at the Susquehanna Speedway Park had Chuck Yingling making it back to victory lane for the second time this season in the Late Models. Dustin Hollinger finally found his was to victory lane the Street Stock division after coming very close during the past few weeks. Thomas Johns won for the second consecutive week in the Xtreme Stock Car feature and Brian Rehbein won the XSC Rookie Rumble. Butch Richcreek won the Susquehanna Recyclers Mini Van feature event. Glenn Elliott picked up the Classic Cars victory. Joey Hoffer won the 5-lap Clean Technologies Young Guns Shoot-Out. The Eastern Museum of Motor Racing Vintage Cars were also on display and on the track with an exhibition of the cars from yesterday.



In the 20-lap Late Model feature event, Chuck Yingling led every lap of the feature but not without heavy pressure from Charles Potts and John Moser. Potts settled for second with Carl Graves moving from a tenth place starting spot to finish third. Moser finished fourth with Bob Scott, Jr. completing the top five. Rounding out the top ten were Richard Walls, Robert Minnich, John Baker, Justin Ehrhart and Brent Hottle. Yingling, Potts and Bud Witmer picked up the qualifying heat victories.



The 20-lap Street Stock feature event found Dustin Hollinger grabbing the early lead and keeping it through the entire event to pick up his first win of the season. Second and third place finishers, Brian Hauenstein and Craig Morgan came from deep in the field but were unable to get by Hollinger. The Clean Technologies Young Guns dash winner, Joey Hoffer, finished fourth and Todd Bowersox completed the top five. Wes Alleman, Paul Morgan, Joe Whiteley, Eric Walker and George Eash were sixth through tenth. Hollinger, Alleman and Craig Morgan won the qualifying heat races.



In the 30-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature, Adam Smith jumped out to lead the first 16 circuits until Donnie Broderick overtook him on the 17th lap. Broderick spun on the next lap and relinquished the lead to last week’s feature winner, Thomas Johns. Johns went on the win the feature followed by Smith, Chris Heller, Ray Broderick and Larry Landis. Sam Rial, Donnie Broderick, Kevin Armstron, Alan Virts and Danny Holmes completed the top ten.







Brian Rehbein won the 15-lap XSC Rookie Rumble over Nancy Frye and Adam Doll. Matt Sowers and Dustin Pietrak completed the top five.



In the 10-lap Susquehanna Recyclers Mini Van feature event, Butch Richcreek took the lead on lap five and never looked back to take the win. Chad Gracey finished second, followed by Lance Danmyer, Brandon Headstrom and Sherry Kitner.



The 15-lap Classic Car feature event, Glenn Ellitott was victorious over Brian Diehl, Jack Yingling, Jim Crocker and John Doe.



Missy Hamilton from Dover took the ride of her life as she was the winner for the Superior Home Race Car Ride-Along with Ray Broderick. He received a few laps in the passenger seat of Ray’s Xtreme Stock Car. Every week one ticket will be drawn from the adult general admission tickets to win a ride for the week after. This week’s winner for the ride-along on Saturday, August 4 is Stephanie Hetrick from Palmyra .



On Saturday, August 4, Stock Car Saturday Night returns with the SSP Picnic in the Pits featuring the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stocks and York Haven Auto Sales Mini Vans. The SSP Picnic in the Pits is going to begin at 4:00 p.m. when fans will be permitted to roam the pits and see their favorite cars and meet their favorite drivers. Many drivers will be giving away a bicycle to kids 12 & under that are drawn at random. Kids will be able to enter the drawing by obtaining an entry form from the drivers in the pits. Drivers are encouraged to enter the track between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. There will also be many games for the kids including a dunk tank where they can have a chance to “Dunk a Driver.” There are already more than 70 bicycles confirmed for the giveaway that night.



Then on Saturday, August 5 with Camera & Autograph Night with the ARDC Midgets, Four Cylinder Stock Cars, Legends Cars and Penn Mar Vintage Cars. All fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers with their cars on the frontstretch before the feature events begin.

General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday and Sunday nights will be Adults and Teens (13 & older) $12.00; Children (12 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 14 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 14 to 17.

On Saturday night, the pit gates will open for pit pass sales at 4:30 p.m. Drivers, crews and haulers may enter at 3:00 p.m. for the SSP Picnic in the Pits. Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 6:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 7:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.



On Sunday night, the pit gates will open 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.



There is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during the season for great prizes. Last season, 10 winners were drawn from the repeat fans and each winner received $30 in SSP Gift Certificates for tickets or concessions. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
