The Victorian Dirt Modified Association held their 2006/07 Presentation Dinner on Saturday 21st, July held at the Amberlee Reception Centre in Cranbourne.
The Club Aggregate for the season was taken out by Tim Morse, followed by Darryl Hickson with Steven Milthorpe rounding out the top three. In previous years an aggregate for division 2 drivers has been held, however due to low car numbers this year it was decided to combine the two divisions into one.
Special mention was made to long-serving secretary of club, Di Smith, who has resigned from the position and opted for a much warmer and sunnier lifestyle in Moama. Di has been involved with the club for 16 years, 3 years as national secretary. The club presented Di with a gift in recognition of her dedication and hard work to the club and the club would like to thank both Di and Keith for the time and effort they have put into the club over the years.
John Morse was awarded the Doug Drew Memorial Award for his contribution to the class including representing the VDMA at national level and also for representing Dirt Modifieds Australia (DMA) at the recent NASR conference.
Other awards for the night included:
- Best Presented Car and Crew: Team Milthorpe
- Most improved Driver: Kevin Weekes
- Unluckiest Driver:Tony Moore
- Encouragement Award: Lenny Levett.
The VDMA are looking forward to a bigger and better season ahead with car numbers on the rise - Matt Giffin of Shepparton is set to strap into the ex-Alan Wicks car and Daniel Timberlake purchasing a Sydney based car.
