Vacation is Over and Casola HEads Back to Work at Pocono; New Motor and Car in Place

Posted by Tom Ames | 07/30/07

POCONO, PA/HOLMDEL, NJ July 30, 2007 . . . After a three week break in the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, the vacation is over for young Dominick Casola.
The Holmdel, NJ racer, who has stayed active running a Legends race car at Wall Township,NJ Speedway, will head back to action in the Pennsylvania 200 for the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Pocono Raceway on Saturday, August 4th. The race is part of a huge weekend of auto racing that includes the Sunday, August 5th Pennsylvania 500 featuring the NASCAR Nextel Cup cars and stars.
The Pennsylvania 200 will kick off seven straight weekends of racing for the A. Casola Farms Motorsports Ford Fusion team fielded by Andy Belmont Motorsports.
“Andy has put a brand new Roush Yates motor in the new Ford (a former Roush Fenway car driven by Greg Biffle in Nextel Cup last season) for the Pocono race,” said the young racer. “That makes us optimistic about our chances for a strong showing this weekend.”
In the June Pocono 200 the team had a strong 14th place finish and was on the lead lap when the checkered flag fell.
“After our great effort in June we really feel that we can gain our first top ten finish of the season,” said Casola. “It would be great to have a strong finish at Pocono since we consider this our home track and there will be a lot of family and friends on hand for the race.”
Pocono does present a unique challenge for the A.Casola Farms Ford Fusion team with the three distinctively different corners and the longest straightaway on the circuit.
“We learned a lot from our first race at Pocono back in June,” the ARCA rookie said. “We will put all that information to good use in the Pennsylvania 200. I am still very optimistic that we can be a challenger in this race.”
Qualifying for the Pennsylvania 200 takes place on Friday, August 3rd along with qualifying for the NASCAR Nextel Cup racers. The Pennsylvania 200 is set for Saturday, August 4.
The race will be carried LIVE on SPEED at 1 p.m.(E.T.).
Next up on the schedule will be the Toyota ARCA 150 at the Nashville, TN Superspeedway on August 11th followed by an August 19th event at Illinois State Fairgrounds, the Allen Crowe 100.
