Also part of the event is "Meet Your Heroes" Night as all cars from all divisions will be on the speedway during intermission for autographs and pictures. Six big features plus autograph night for just $5!
"Last year we tried a first ever Pack the Track Night and changed up our Meet Your Heroes autograph night from behind the grandstands before the races to on the speedway during intermission," explained owner Vicki Emig. "Because of a rain out, the two nights ended up coinciding together with great success and was enjoyed by all. The first one this year scheduled for May 26 was rained out and we later made up the autograph portion. We're really hoping for good weather Saturday so the entire night can be a success."
Rod George was one of three winners in last Saturday's triple features as part of the "Sprint Slug-Out" collecting his seventh Mercer win and Northeast leading 19th overall on the season, while Todd Bauer won his first overall anywhere this season, and Gale Ruth, Jr. won his career first. George of Kittanning, Pa. now has an 86-point lead over Arnie Kent in search of his second championship.
Rodney Beltz became the first three-time winner in the Modifieds last Saturday night, while Garrett Krummert regained the point lead. Krummert of New Castle, Pa. leads Steve Young by 20 markers and is not only looking for his first ever championship, but also his first career win as well.
Brian Booher added his career high ninth win of the season in the Stock Cars as he's now earned $1,150 for his last two wins. The Sandy Lake, Pa. driver is within one victory of tying Alan Dellinger's all-time win mark of 30 for the division. Booher leads Andy Buckley by 58 points in search of his unprecedented third straight title.
Todd Canter joined teammate Kenny Meadows and Brian Woodhall as new Mod Lite winners in the last three weeks. In the title chase, Mark Marcucci leads fellow West Middlesex, Pa. resident Rod Jones by seven points. It will be an important night with two features on the line including the $500 Star's event to start the night off.
The new Mini Stock division grows with new cars each week. Pete Wearing won for the second time last Saturday night, as the grandson to the great Bob Wearing, Sr. has yet to finish worse than second this year. Despite missing three events, Wearing has climbed to third in points trailing point leader Lucas Sprouse of Elkton, Ohio and good friend Mike Anderson (Jr.), who he defeated with a last lap, last turn pass Saturday night.
