July 31, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Carnesville, GA)...As the 2007 FASTRAK season is a little over
halfway completed, the list of National Championship competitors
continues to grow. Point battles continue to be in contention across
the country in both Regional and Weekly Track Championships. In a
very unique points system only teams that are first, FASTRAK MEMBERS,
and secondly, make at least 51% of their perspective events at either
FASTRAK weekly-sanctioned tracks or in Regional Touring seriesacross
the country, will be allowed to attend the second annual
FASTRAK "Grand Nationals" paying a WHOPPING $50,000 TO WIN!
2006 FASTRAK National Champion, Steve "Hot Rod" Lamance will once
again contend for the $50,000 to win prize as he is currently
registered at Travelers Rest Speedway in SC and has already performed
his duties on making a minimum of 51% of the races at his local
track. "I love the way the FASTRAK system is designed," said
LaMance. "This way the teams that support the
series are the only ones that get the chance at the $50,000 to win
prize at the Grand Nationals. It doesn't cater to the big names in
the sport to come in and steal the biggest prize money of the year.
Last year when I won the grand total was over $82,000 including
$50,000 in cash. I commend Stan Lester for doing everything he has
stated from day one of the series."
The 2006 story of LaMance was one of the best in racing. LaMance came
to most of the events in 2006 with an open trailer, with a `99 model
car, didn't win either night of the three-night National events, but
had the best average overall and took home the $50,000 prize. LaMance
and his wife Teresa overcame a lot of obstacles just to get there as
Teresa had some major health problems earlier in the year.
"I was in the hospital and Hot Rod said he wasn't going to the races
that night," said Teresa. "I told him he had to go because we needed
the two bonus points. I finally talked him into it and guess what? We
won the National Championship by those exact 2 bonus points." $50,000
later LaManace would agree that was the most important decision of
the year for his team and gives credit to his wife.
