Thorold, Ontario (August 1) Merrittville Speedway’s biggest event of the season just got bigger as the Countdown to Green Monday August 6th will feature an Autograph Session with some of the stars of the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series leading up to the 100 lap Trevor Wilkens Memorial.
“It’s adds a lot to our event,” relates (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “ we have the meet and greet with our Saturday Night Hometown Heroes several times during the season … but the series only visits once a year – our fans can now meet the DIRT stars in just 5 days.”
Drivers scheduled to participate include the hottest driver and the Series Point Leader – Brett Hearn … one of the Series’ all time win leaders and former Merrittville Point Champion Alan Johnson, one of the most consistent 2007 Series’ competitors Matt Sheppard, and veteran campaigners Frank Cozze and Kenny Brightbill.
The DIRTcar Autograph Session will take place from 5:00 to 5:30 in the Dipper’s Turn 1 Bar area located behind the Turn 1 Grandstands.
Post-race Merrittville Speedway fans are also welcome to head over to the pit area and meet all the race teams and see the race cars up close from the Advance Auto Parts Big Block Super DIRT Series … Merrittville’s own L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modifieds and the Lucas Oil Open Wheel Lites and Hoosier Stocks.
“It has always been the event of the summer,” adds Bicknell, “with the Autograph Session … Club Castropignano’s Pasta Dinner and the As the Dirt Flies … the Countdown to Green has grown to be as big as the race itself.”

Pasta Dinner Tickets must be purchased by the close of Saturday August 4th’s Dirt Weekly Racing Series Event however.
