SPECIAL EVENTS COMING UP AT WILLIAMS GROVE
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- The limited (358 c.i.) sprints have been the
support division for the Williams Grove sprint cars through much of the
summer, but following the double bill on Friday, August 10, a
considerable amount of variety will fill the Grove's schedule through
Labor Day.
The 358s, led by defending champion Cory Haas and current point
leader Pat Cannon, will share the pit area with the sprint car teams on
August 10.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 8:00.
The rest of the month is filled with special events beginning with
one of the season highlights, The Jack Gunn Memorial, on August 17.
This program, named to honor the memory of the Grove's late Hall of
Fame promoter, will include three 20-lap features for sprint cars.
A sweep of all three features will be worth $10,000.
The URC sprints return for their final appearance of the season on
August 24. The Williams Grove sprint cars will once again headline the
card.
The Grove will be back for a two- race holiday weekend on August 31
and September 2.
Twin 20-lap features for sprint cars will be presented on Friday,
August 31. There will be no support division that night, but a
spectacular fireworks display is planned.
Then on the eve of Labor Day an open wheel triple header will
include sprint cars, limited sprints and super sportsman cars.
The top ten in the limited sprint and super sportsman point
standings will be locked into their respective feature events on
September 2.

September 29-30 Cleveland Brothers National Open are now available by
contacting he speedway office at 717.697.5000. The National Open will
