Forestville, PA-August 5, 2007- Big Diamond Raceway held their fourth Nutty Buddy Enduro Series races of the season Sunday presented by Naftzinger’s Used Auto Parts. Chris Reichert of Auburn won the 100-lap 6/8 Cylinder Enduro and Bill Price Jr. of Luzerne emerged victorious in the 100-lap 4 Cylinder Enduro.

Forty-three cars assembled for the 6/8 cylinder contest. Chuck Dietzel, a former Street Stock driver at the speedway, led the race’s opening moments. Dietzel’s car is a replica model of a 1970’s Late Model driven by Danny Starr (#49) during BDR’s earlier days. Dietzel led the first eleven laps until his machine slowed with a flat tire and headed pitside. Mike Reichert, who originally started eighth, took command on the twelfth circuit.

M. Reichert, twice an Enduro winner this season, paced the field until the 27th lap when his machine lost power and pitted. C. Reichert, originally started twelfth, grabbed command of the race lead. C. Reichert set a torrid pace and eventually raced within his own lap. At the checkers, C. Reichert was victorious by a lap.

After finishing in the bride’s maid position (second) in the previous three enduro races, C. Reichert powered to his first victory of the season behind the wheel of his #327 machine. C. Reichert is a former Roadrunner competitor and feature winner duiring the ‘90s at Big Diamond and the now closed Penn National (PA) Speedway.

Jason Brown, driving a Dale Earnhardt Jr. replica #8, throttled to his best finish of the season, second. Doug Naftzinger powered the #58 to a third place effort over Brad Krause, and former Street Stock competitor Joey Zvorsky. Rounding out the final eight paying positions were Bee Luckenbill, Dan Strenkoski, and B. Krause’s cousin Jeff Krause. Walt Lemmon and Kevin Brown actually crossed the line in second and third respectively but were disqualified in the final rundown.

Chris Holland simply dominated ninety-two percent of the 4-cylinder Enduro. Holland, who competes weekly in Diamond’s Roadrunner division, led the opening 92 circuits. During the event’s opening moments Chris held off the challenges from his father Kevin Holland. Jeremy Krauss and Bill Price Jr. battled for the runner-up position just past half-way. Krauss, while running second, pitted with just ten laps remaining. Price moved into the spot.

While working on lap 93, C. Holland’s #8 suffered a right front flat tire. Price and Tony Wetzel quickly powered past the ailing C. Holland machine. Wetzel passed Price for the top spot on lap 94, and the duo raced side-by-side across the start/finish line to score the 95th lap. Price gained complete possession of the lead on lap 96, and split a pair of lapped machine on the 97th tour, which secured his lead.

Price, a racing pavement specialist, is certainly getting a grip on the clay surface as he powered to his second straight victory of the season. Wetzel, driving his Mike Geiser tribute #27x car, finished second ahead of consistant front runner Ollie Stewart, who started eighteenth. Larry Spencer finished fourth ahead of opening day winner Jeff Sheetz, and J. Krauss.
