Martin Roy wins the Lucas Oil Canadian DIRT Series at Granby and Laurent Ladouceur is the champion of the series.

Granby, PQ– Tuesday, August 7th, 2007 – It was the final race of the Lucas Oil Canadian DIRT Series at Autodrome Granby, another great car count of 31 modifieds showed up for this race. The crowd was also on hand for this great show on a beautiful hot and humid night in the Granby area. Laurent Ladouceur was the leader with 32 points ahead of Clément Therrien.
Two Granby regulars were on the pole as Steve Bernard and Martin Gagné started first and second. Bernard took the lead over Gagné while Robidoux was third. Gagné went too high and Robidoux was now second and he used the inside lane in turn 2 to pass Bernard and grabbed the lead on lap 3. Robidoux took a great lead over Bernard and Bussière that was now third. Bussière was on the back bumper of Bernard and finally passed him in turn 2 from the outside on lap 10. Robidoux was now getting in traffic on lap 15 and he worked his way through with Bussière closing on him but Robidoux was really fast and got a 15-car length lead over Bussière on lap 25. Alain Boisvert was now third and was getting close of Bussière. The first caution of the race came for Clement Therrien who was second place in points after four events. Robidoux kept his spot while Bussière lost a wheel a hit the wall in turn 3, ending his chance to win the series, with this accident Alain Boisvert moves up to second on the next lap. Robidoux still led on the following green. Eric Landry stopped on the backstretch and this brought the third caution of the feature on lap 46. At the halfway point, it was Robidoux, Boisvert, David Hébert, Steve Bernard and Martin Roy who was now fifth. On the restart, Robidoux got a good start and Martin Gagné spun out in the backstretch on lap 51 to bring the yellow out. Kayle Robidoux had to hold off Boisvert on the next green. Christian Salvas and Leon Gonyo got together in the backstretch and Gonyo went up on the wall and both cars had heavy damage on them, this accident occurred on lap 55. Robidoux and Boisvert got into a good battle while Robidoux got too high in turn 3 and Boisvert was now the new leader on lap 62. Robidoux slipped to sixth. Martin Roy was now second and got closer from Boisvert while a good battle went on for third place between Réal Lafrance, Sébastien Gougeon and Kayle Robidoux. Both leaders were moving away from the field with 25 laps to go. A yellow brought the field back together on lap 80. Boisvert was first, Martin Roy Second, Réal Lafrance was now third after starting in the 28th spot. Boisvert and Roy got a good start and they got into a good battle, as Roy was the new leader on lap 83. John Mulder slowed in turn 2 and the yellow came out. With fifteen to go, Roy was first followed by Boisvert, Réal Lafrance third, Gougeon fourth and David Hébert rounding out the top 5. Roy and Boisvert got into a good battle and Roy was able to hold him. Martin Roy led the remaining laps to win the last race in Lucas Oil Canadian Series, with Boisvert in second, Sébastien Gougeon third, Kayle Robidoux fourth and Réal Lafrance finished fifth.The heat winners were Kayle Robidoux, Alain Boisvert and Brian McDonald. Kayle Robidoux was the fast timer as he ran the track in a time of 18.813 seconds
The Lucas Oil Canadian DIRT Series is now over with Laurent Ladouceur who finished 19th at Granby, was the winner of 2007 edition with 420 points with Brian McDonald was second with 397, Mario Clair was third with 389, Clément Therrien fourth with 387 and Kayle Robidoux rounded out the top 5 with 384 points. This year’s series was a great success with great car counts at each track and the 5 races were very entertaining.
