FAMILY AUTOGRAPH NIGHT THIS FRIDAY AUGUST 10 AT BREWERTON SPEEDWAY
BREWERTON, NY – One of the most popular nights of the 2007 race season will be held this Friday August 10 at Brewerton Speedway as www.cnyjunkcarswanted.com presents Family Autograph Night. After the qualifying races are complete, all cars and drivers will be brought down to the frontstretch as race fans will have full access to visit, get autographs from, and take photos with their favorite drivers. In race action will be the DIRTcar Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds, ESDCA Mod Lites, and 4-Cylinder Super Stocks plus a special appearance by the Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club. Race time at the “D-Shaped DIRT Demon” is set for 7pm.
Less than a month is left on the 2007 regular race season, and all drivers are racing as hard as they can to get every point possible. In the headline DIRTcar Modified division, Willy Decker is only a mere eleven points ahead of defending track champion Alan Johnson as Decker looks for his first ever title at the track. Decker and Johnson have become fierce rivals since coming together on the last lap of Decker’s first ever win on June 1, and anything can happen at this point. Young Pennsylvania drivers Kevin Bates and Dan Vauter are also within striking distance as is 2000 champion Chuck Bower. This Friday’s 35-lap main event will surely be a battle of the titans as the summer winds down. To date, eight different drivers have visited victory lane and the competition is as intense and fair as ever.
Kevan Cook recently put an end to the eight race win streak of Dale Caswell in the IMCA Modified class. Cook has been a model of consistency and holds a 28-point advantage over Caswell even though he has only one win as the rivals look for the first track championships of their careers. In the ESDCA Mod Lites, a recent disqualification and suspension of point leader Dan Williams has tightened the standings considerably. Brother Doug Williams is only seven points behind and will no doubt race as hard as he can to beat out Dan. Point leader Claude Hutchings, Chuck Powelczyk, and Matt Wetterer are the big winners to date in the 4-Cylinder Super Stock class.
The popular Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club will make its yearly appearance at Brewerton Speedway this Friday. Coupes, coaches, sedans, and much more from the 50’s, 60’s, and 1970’s will do battle once again on the “D-Shaped DIRT Demon” just as they did throughout the track’s glorious 59 year history. It will surely be a walk through memory lane for many, as the Antiques will battle 3-wide all the way around the speedway for fun.
After the qualifying races are held, the entire Brewerton Speedway pit area will be brought out onto the frontstretch for the popular Family Autograph session. All drivers will be present with their cars to meet and greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photos, and have handouts to giveaway. Without a doubt, race fans young and old always enjoy the special evening of family entertainment.

Admission prices are set at $12 for Adults, $5 for ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are free with a paid adult. Pit admission is $20 for DIRT/IMCA Members and $25 for Non-Members.
