FULTON, NY – The Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club will invade the Fulton Speedway high banks this Saturday August 11 on Canale Insurance Night. The antique race cars, which feature coupes, coaches, sedans and much more from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s will give fans a glimpse of racing in the yesteryear. Also in race action will be the headline DIRTcar Modifieds in a show-up points event plus the DIRTcar Sportsman, UMP Pro Stocks, UMP Street Stocks, Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman, and 4-Cylinder Enduros. Race time at the Home of the Victoria 200 is set for 7pm.

With the Super DIRTcar Series in action at Saturday night counterpart Lebanon Valley Speedway, the DIRTcar Modifieds will have a non-point feature event at Fulton Speedway. All Fulton Speedway DIRTcar race teams racing at either track will receive 40 show-up points for their efforts. With some of the top Modified drivers not in action at Fulton, it could be anyone’s chance to reach victory lane. Kevin Bates, Chad Phelps, Tom Sears, Roy Bresnahan, Jim Witko, Tim Sears, Brett Tonkin, John Ramsey, Sean Beardsley, Jeremy Smith, Matt Fink, Dan Vauter, and Willy Decker will all be in contention for their first win of the 2007 season in the 35-lap main event.

Jeremy Pitcher is looking for his first ever Fulton Speedway DIRTcar Sportsman crown and he must maintain his 40-point lead over John Pietrowicz, who has yet to win his first feature in the division. Defending champion Shawn Donath is third in the standings and within striking distance of the leaders. In the new Gypsum Express Crate Sportsman class, Timmy Sears Jr. is way ahead in the points with four feature wins. Sean McCarthy, Brad Godshalk, Mike Fowler, and cancer survivor Katelyn Kane round out the top five.

Jason Parkhurst is just a mere 12 points ahead of defending UMP Pro Stock champion Billy Clark Jr. in the standings. Jack Terrell, Dale Guernsey, and Jim Evans are all looking for their first ever wins, as Rusty Marsden is on a tear with two straight wins. The door handle to door handle excitement in the UMP Street Stocks is fun to watch each week, with Ron Hawker, Gary Barton, Jim Wallace, Dan Hofmann Sr., Steve Woodworth, and Nick Rizzo all looking for championship glory. Mark Johnston currently leads the 4-Cylinder Enduro division over other top drivers Jon Shumway, Jerry Herbert, and Marjorie Wallace.

The popular Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club will make its yearly appearance at Fulton Speedway this Saturday. Coupes, coaches, sedans, and much more from the 50’s, 60’s, and 1970’s will do battle once again on the 3/8-mile just as they did throughout the track’s glorious 46-year history. It will surely be a walk through memory lane for many, as the Antiques will battle 3-wide all the way around the speedway in what could be the best race of the night.

Admission prices this Saturday August 11 on Canale Insurance Night at Fulton Speedway are $12 for Adults, $5 for Ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are free of charge with a paid adult. Fulton Speedway is conveniently located on Route 57, just 2 miles south of the City of Fulton.
