JETSETTER “JOB” Takes Second 2007 Southern Ontario Sprints Victory

Kevin Job flew in from Zurich this afternoon and quickly tuned in his new ride to dominate Southern Ontario Sprint action at Brighton Speedway Saturday night. Having missed Friday’s action at Ohsweken Speedway due to flight connections, Job quickly adjusted to the newly completed car which he recently purchased from Mike Woodring Racing.Derek Jonathan grabbed the early lead and showed the way for the first three circuits with Bob Crawford challenging. A restart following a Dick Mahoney spin in turn two was the opening that Job was looking for as he drove underneath the leaders entering turn three and emerged in from as they exited turn four. John Watson followed Job through to the front and settled in for the chase.With Watson pressuring briefly, Job was never seriously challenged over the remaining distance with Watson posting a solid second place finish in the Turford mount. Racing for the third through tenth spots was furious for the remainder of the twenty lap affair with Bob Crawford holding on to third, fourth going to newcomer Chris Jones from the DIRT 358 Modified ranks with Adam West rounding out the top five. Rick Wilson, Joe Middlemiss, Warren Mahoney, Glenn Styres, and Keith Dempster completed the top ten.
Heat races were won by Rick WILSON, Derek JONATHON, and Kevin JOB. The Dash was won by Rick WILSON.

Next up the series will move on to Genesee Speedway for a three way challenge with ESS and the ASCS Patriots before returning to Brighton Speedway Labour Day weekend for a Saturday / Sunday twin affair.
