"NASCAR Duel on the Sharon Speedway Dirt" Set For Tuesday, Aug. 14
$5,000 to win open sprint race; Stewart, Blaney, Bowyer and Harvick to battle local e-mod drivers in $1,000 to win e-mod race

HARTFORD, Ohio; August 10, 2007 - For the first time in Sharon Speedway's storied history, a $5,000 to win open sprint car race will take center stage on the speedway's 3/8-mile dirt oval, with NASCAR stars also slated to lap the track against the area's best e-mod drivers in a $1,000 to win e-mod race. The action is set for Tuesday, Aug. 14.

The tri-state area's best 410 sprint car drivers will hit the Hartford dirt for a 50-lap feature. Ed Lynch, Jr. and Bob Felmlee have been the hottest sprint drivers at Sharon Speedway this season. They will have to fend off a host of hungry competitors as they battle for a $5,000 crown in the 50-lap shootout.

It is not often that four NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers visit a small town like Hartford, Ohio, but that will be the case on Tuesday when Sharon Speedway co-owner Dave Blaney, Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick are in town to battle the local e-mod stars in a $1,000 to win e-mod feature. Howard Fraley and Alan Dellinger have been the men to beat this season in the e-mod class at Sharon Speedway. Fans can see if the local drivers can outduel the NASCAR Stars in the 25-lap e-mod feature on Tuesday night.

Blaney, who pilots the No. 22 Caterpillar Toyota in NASCAR's premier division, is a seasoned veteran on the dirt. The stats speak for themselves, as Blaney won the World of Outlaws Sprint Series championship in 1995, the 1997 Knoxville Nationals and has 70 career A-Main victories with the Outlaws, placing him sixth on the all-time win list. Blaney will be returning to his hometown track on Tuesday.

Stewart, driver of the No. 20 Home Depot Chevrolet and 2007 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard winner, is also very familiar with the ranks of dirt racing. He has four United States Auto Club (USAC) championships to his credit, including the 1995 USAC Triple Crown title (sprints, midgets and sliver crown). Stewart also owns Eldora Speedway and dirt racing teams in the World of Outlaws and USAC. The native of Columbus, Ind. has a vast amount of dirt experience in sprint cars, modifieds, late models, midgets, silver crown cars and more.

Bowyer, who hails from Emporia, Kan., grew up in the ranks of dirt racing. He has a host of dirt track championships under his belt, including modified crowns at Thunderhill Speedway (Mayetta, Kan.) in 2000 and Lakeside Speedway (Kansas) in 2001. Bowyer, who currently drives the No. 07 Jack Daniel's Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, will be making his first visit to Sharon Speedway on Tuesday.

Finally, Harvick, who won the 2007 Daytona 500, will be taking his own e-mod onto the Hartford dirt for the first time. He has limited dirt experience, which began two seasons ago at Eldora Speedway. The driver of the No. 29 Shell/Pennzoil Nextel Cup machine calls Bakersfield, Calif. home. Harvick along with the other NASCAR stars will have their hands full on Tuesday as they battle the area's best e-mod drivers.

The festivities on Aug. 14 will also feature an autograph session involving a lottery process. All fans will receive a lottery scratch off ticket upon entering the track prior to the autograph session on Tuesday night with one lottery ticket per person. After scratching off the ticket, if the letter on that ticket matches one of the drivers, that fan will be able to receive an autograph from that one driver. Every person will not be guaranteed an autograph. However, this method entitles all fans in attendance an equal chance at receiving an autograph from one of the drivers.

The session will take place at 6 p.m. in the FANtastic Zone. Therefore you must get to the track early to secure a scratch off card prior to the start of the session. No scratch off tickets will be handed out once the autograph session begins. The gates open at 4 p.m. Fans are strongly advised to arrive well in advance of the autograph session at 6 p.m. to secure a chance at an autograph.

Tickets for the "NASCAR Duel on the Sharon Speedway Dirt" cost $25 for adults and just $5 for kids (age 2-13), with reserved seats just $2 more. For an opportunity to get into the pit area, and possibly meet the NASCAR stars, fans are encouraged to secure a pit pass for $30. Reserved seat and pit pass combos cost $45.

To order tickets, fans can log on to www.sharonspeedway.com or call (330) 772-1186. Online orders must be placed by Sunday at midnight.

Gates will open at 4 p.m., with sprint car qualifying slated for 6:30 p.m. and heat racing at 7:30 p.m. As previously stated, the autograph session will begin at 6 p.m. Fans can call (330) 772-5481 or visit www.sharonspeedway.com for more information and directions
