USA 100, Covert, Knight, Arpin, Knoxville and North/South Winners Headline Dirt Nation™ Live

The Dirt Nation™ Live presented by Lucas Oil radio show on Monday evening August 13th will present a plethora of special guests from the world of dirt track racing across the country. Dirt Nation™ Live presented by Lucas Oil airs from 8:00 - 10:00 PM EST on www.racetalklive.com and www.dirtnation.net, and is hosted by Dave Seay.

Dirt Nation™ Live will spotlight Ernie Shelton’s USA 100™ presented by Thurston Spring Service, inc. to be held at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway on August 18, 2007. This year’s event will once again be sanctioned by the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS). The $68,000 purse makes the USA 100™ one of the countries highest paying one day events. Joining the show to talk about the big event will be MACS Race Director Jeff Gessey, event originator Ernie Shelton , President of Tylerco Group USA, LLC, and Racing America Newspaper and 2006 MACS Champion Jason Covert of York Haven, PA.

Jason Covert has been running a mixed bag of sanctioned events while also defending his MACS title. Covert is considered to be one of the east coasts premier drivers. Covert drives the Klinedinst Motorsports owned; Hershey’s Racing Engines powered Chevrolet Monte Carlo Rocket #43A sponsored by Pre-Mach. Inc., Red Wing Shoes, Mazak, Kuppy’s Diner, Bam’s Auto Service and Baker Carberation.

Dirt Nation™ Live will also spotlight dirt late model driver and 20 year old young gun Mike Knight of Ripley , NY. Knight burst onto the dirt late model scene just a short two years ago and is looking ahead at a potential championship title at Eriez Speedway in Hammett , PA. Forgoing the dreaded ‘sophomore jinx’, Knight has amassed 12 top fives and 19 top tens in 28 starts including a feature win during 2007 and currently sits first in point standings at Eriez Speedway in both the Super Late Model and Limited Late Model divisions, Knight also is positioned sixth in Stateline (NY) Speedway point standings. Knight’s feature win this season came at Stateline Speedway. Knight will join the show to talk about his season thus far, his fall plans and the goals the team is setting for next year. Knight drives the Andy Knight owned; Craiger Race Engines powered Rocket #9K sponsored by Arrowhead Wine Cellars, Mobilia Fruit Farm, Ottaway’s Auto Body, Knight Farms, RJB Construction and Chess’ Pizza.

Making a return visit to Dirt Nation™ will be e-mod driver Steve Arpin of Fort Frances , Ont. , Canada . Arpin was dominating during his visit to the sunshine state with seven wins in his first nine event and has continued to impress with his success on he track thus far in 2007. The 23 year old Canadian will join the show to talk about his latest win in the AMRA Road Warrior Tour sanctioned 7th Annual American Heritage 101 held at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, OH, where he picked up a brand new Harley Davidson Motorcycle for the win. Arpin drives the Steve Arpin Racing owned, Larry Shaw #00 sponsored by Pinewood Sports & Marine, Sun Place, Pizza Hut, BSB Manufaturing, A. Rappert Well, Inc., Cornwell Tools, Reich Concrete, Hangar Bar & Grill and New Vision Graphics.

Dirt Nation™ Live will also tentatively have the winners of the $150,000 to win 47th Annual Superclean Knoxville Nationals held at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville , IA and the $50,000 to win North / South 100 held at Florence Speedway in Union , KY.
