Advance Auto Parts Series Hall Of Fame Classic Up Next At Cayuga County

Falling victim to rain back on Memorial Day, the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series DIRT Hall of Fame Classic is ready to take the green flag at Cayuga County Fair Speedway on Sunday, August 19.
Presented by Owasco Beverage, Budweiser and Labatt, the 16th Annual HoF Championship will headline a complete DIRTcar Racing card that includes Sportsman Modifieds, Street Stocks, BattleKarz and NY Modified Midgets on Aramark Fan Foto Autograph Night. Two separate points battles will be waged for Big-Block Modified teams as the Hall of Fame Classic is also a F.X. Caprara Car Companies-Dig Safely New York ‘Five-Star’ Series event.
All the short-track heroes from the Advance Auto Parts Series return to Cayuga County on Sunday including current tour points leader Brett Hearn, who continues in his bid to capture a record-tying 6th overall Mr. DIRTcar title. Joining five-time ’07 tour race winner Hearn will be an all-star cast of contracted drivers that includes Cayuga County points leader Jimmy Phelps and his weekly rivals Steve Paine and Justin Haers, plus young guns Chad Homan, Derrick Podsiadlo, Billy Dunn, Vince Vitale and rookie Russ Hefti.
August 19 is the day after the Advance Auto Parts Series stop at Can-Am Motorsports Park and a one-time discount offer is in place for this unique Big-Block doubleheader as both tracks sit just 1 1/2-hours apart. With Twin 50s at Can-Am and a pair of 53-lap features on tap at Cayuga County, a special two-race ticket package is being offered for $30 (Adult GA only), which is a sizable $10 savings from the standard fare of $40. For those fans that do not take advantage of this super combo package, Cayuga County will still offer a $5 savings at the front gate on Sunday if they present their general admission ticket stub from Can-Am the night before.
Cayuga County pit gates will unlock at 4 p.m. and the main grandstands open at 5 o'clock. Qualifying heats are slated to start at 7:15pm, preceded by warm-ups for all divisions and Integra Shocks Modified Time Trials.
Adult general admission grandstand tickets are $20 each, Senior Citizens (65 yrs + over) $18, Students (10-14 yrs) $5 and Children (9 yrs. + under) Free. Camping on the fairgrounds is allowed for a minimal fee of $10 which includes electrical hook-up.
