WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT THUNDER ON THE HILL?

One of the most unique and longest running mid-week racing series returns to action at its' home track, the Grandview Speedway on Tuesday night, August 21. The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series will continue in their eighteenth season with the Tuesday night event, marking the seventy-ninth ever, Thunder on the Hill Racing Series program. At one time, the Thunder Series was just a mid-week 410 sprint show, but not any longer. The Thunder Series evolved to include not only the 410 PA Posse Sprints but the 358 Modifieds, WoO, USAC, All Stars, DIRTcars, 600 Sprints, Late Models, 600 Modifieds, Legends, URC Sprints, CRA Sprints, SCRA Sprints and ARDC Midgets. On Tuesday night, August 21, you'll get a taste of variety with the Grandview THUNDER 5-25's. A features only program that will showcase the 410 Sprints, 358 Modifieds, 600 Sprints, Rolling Thunder Legends and the 600 Modifieds. Race time is set for 7:30 PM with gates opening at 5 PM.

Remember, there are no heats, no time trials no consolation events. Just 5 awesome feature events all getting under way with the drop of the green flag at 7:30 PM.

A program filled with variety on the track and fun in the stands, this is exactly what you'll find when you venture to the "hill" on Tuesday night, August 21. Fans will have an opportunity to experience the popular Inside/Out Promotion, where spectators may view warm-ups from inside the fourth turn. Just meet at the flag stand by 6:45 PM to be part of the Inside/Out promotion. Of course, no Thunder on the Hill Show could run without JOE the Pizza DUDE. Joe will again be giving away free pizza to the loudest race fans, so be sure to stomp your feet, scream and shout and you just might earn a free Pizza Pie. Ms. Motorsports Chelsea Miller will be trackside and will sing the National Anthem. One Lucky Fan will be called to drop the green flag in the opening night feature.

Some pre-race activity will include a display by the well known Shellhammer's Speedway, a Berks County go-kart track. Numerous karts will be on display behind the grandstand and prior to the start of the racing program, ten karts will provide an exhibition trial on the Grandview Speedway. Always an expected treat and tradition is the fireworks salute on the parade lap of the 410 Sprint feature. This is just an awesome sight and sure to send chills up your spine.

To conclude the night, the always fun celebration in victory lane will find the five feature event winners with plenty of champagne flowing. Fans are invited to victory lane and of course, to visit the pit area and meet all their favorite drivers after the racing program.

RTS Chassis and Rainbow Roofing are proud sponsors of the 600 Sprint Feature. RTS Chassis is your one stop micro sprint store for the 270, 600 and 1000cc sprint divisions. First off, in the 410 Sprints, Lucas Wolfe of Mechanicsburg, PA is looking to claim his first event Thunder on the Hill Sprint title. Also in the chase is Greg Hodnett, Fred Rahmer and Lance Dewease. $3,500 to win this 25 lap contest is the incentive for a good race. The outside boiler plate is in place to keep everyone in the game.

Hoffman will be starting last in the field as he attempts to chase down Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk, MeMe DeSantis, Danny Erb, Mike Gular, Craig VonDohren and all the weekly Grandview kingpins .
