ATTICA, Ohio (Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007) - The track championships at Attica
Raceway Park will be decided on Kistler Engines Night, Saturday, Aug. 25,
with close points battles in every division.
In the World Auto Parts of Huron-Cleveland 410 Sprints, Monclova's Byron
Reed is trying to win his third straight track title and his fourth overall
Attica Championship. Not only would he share in the point fund, but he would
also win a new Eagle Chassis courtesy of Kear's Speedshop and Attica
Raceway Park. Reed, who has four wins in 2007 at "Ohio's Finest Racing"
speedplant, holds an 88 point advantage over Lee Jacobs, with Mike Linder
139 points back. Paul Weaver and Caleb Griffith round out the top five in
the standings.
In the 305 sprints, defending track champion Andy Shammo, who has four
feature wins in 2007 at ARP, holds a slim 37 point lead over Bryan Sebetto
who has 7 feature wins to his credit. Dustin Dinan is 112 points back, with
Stuart Brubaker 114 points behind and Duane Zablocki 138 points back in
fifth. The track champion will receive a new Revolution XXX Chassis thanks
to Kear's Speedship and Revolution XXX Chassis.
The closest point battle is in the Fultz Fabrications & Speedshop Attica
Late Models where Gibsonburg's Ken Hahn holds a slip 11 point advantage over
five-time track champion Larry Kingseed, while Ryan Missler is just 14
points back. Hahn, with three wins in 2007, is trying to win the point money
and a new Rayburn chassis thanks to Wynn's Automotive/Service Drive
Solutions and Rayburn Race Cars. Former champion Mike Marteney is fourth in
the standings, 61 points back, with Ernie Haynes fifth, 65 points back.
Sandusky's Cory Ward, who has three feature wins at ARP in 2007, holds a
slim 11-point advantage over defending track champion Art Ball who also has
three victories. Bob Dible, who has two feature wins, is third in the
standings just 28 points back, with Shawn Valenti, who also has a pair of
wins, fourth, just 32 points behind. Steve Endicott is fifth in the points,
72 points back.
If rain forces the championship night racing to be cancelled, the points
races in the 410 and 305 sprints would be over, with the points in the late
models and dirt trucks to be deciced on Sept. 1.
The vintage race cars will also be on display Saturday, Aug. 25.
