WEIKEL RACEWEAR CHAMPIONSHIP AUGUST 25
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- The final Saturday night of the Saturday Night
Series at Williams Grove Speedway is set for August 25.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 7:00.
There will be no super sportsman racing on August 25, but a
championship event for the limited (358 c.i.) late models sponsored by
Weikel Racewear will headline the all stock car card. The limited
late model division has been very competitive at Williams Grove this
season and the racing has produced seven different winners in ten events.
Tyler Armstrong is the leading feature winner with three victories.
Tyler Hershey, who won most recently on August 11, is the only
other late model driver to repeat at Williams Grove this season.
Single victories have gone to Gene Knaub, Larry Baer, Jake Lettich,
Travis Mease and Randy Croop.
No less than 20 different drivers have recorded top-5 finishes in
this division in 2007.
Kory Sites is still the man to beat in street competition. The
defending champion has won four of the nine street stock races run at
the Grove this year.
John Stoll, Jr., has totally dominated the 4-cylinder stock cars
all season.
While there are no more Saturday nights for the Saturday Night
Series after August 25, the Saturday night racers will conclude the
series on Friday, September 7. The super sportsman cars will return to
headline the program and will be joined by the limited late models,
street stocks and enduro cars.
The top sportsman and limited late model drivers will be invited to
participate in the Fall Fest, a features only program, which will
conclude the 2007 racing season at Williams Grove on October 13.
