AMP Returns to Siloam Springs Speedway, August 25, 2007
ALEXANDER ARK--
This will be the second trip of the season to Siloam Springs Speedway for the Day Motor
Sports AMP State Series presented by American Racer and will prove pivotal for many in the
season long point chase. The Day Motor Sport Series will once again surround the
speedway and salute to the promoters and fans as the speedway welcomes the first year
series back for their last visit this 2007 season.
On the surface, Siloam Springs Speedway would appear to favor the chances of Jon Mitchell
taking home another feature win. Mitchell has been hot on the tracks since wrapping his
car with the AMP Series American Racer MD56 Spec tires. Jon Mitchell took over the point's
lead back in July at Central Arkansas Speedway while racing against first place Rookie, Kyle
Beard, ending the night in Mitchell's first AMP Series points lead victory.
Saturday evening August 25th, may be a key factor in the current 'Rookie' duel between two
Arkansas hotshoe's Trumann, Arkansas, Kyle Beard & Bryant, Arkansas, Joseph Long; as
they race on familiar ground to take over the Rookie Championship Points on one of the
most competitive racing facilities the series has been on during the 2007 inaugural season.
Beard & Long are both racing on the American Racer MD56 Series Spec tires, and are
showing their way to victory lane ahead of many that are competeing on the Hooiser tires
allowed in the series this season.
The two drivers have fought their way to the top of the standings in the AMP State Series,
which has shattered records for fan counts at almost every track it has appeared this
season. Recently the Day Motor Sports AMP State Series set their first record with 24
participants on hand at the AMP Topless 40 at Monticello Speedway August 11, The stage is
set for a showdown on the racing surface at Siloam Springs Speedway -- It turns out the
Siloam Springs weekend will turn into some of the most competitive racing between Beard
and Long this year, as the season comes closer to ending the rookie of the year points
chase with only 26 points between the two Arkansas drivers.
