VICTORIA 200 RULES MODIFIED MINI-SERIES TO VISIT FULTON SPEEDWAY THIS TUESDAY AUGUST 21 IN TRUE BARGAIN FOR RACE FANS
FULTON, NY The sail-paneled Dirt Modifieds under Victoria 200 Rules will invade Fulton Speedway this Tuesday August 21 for an all-star show with the very best names of Dirt Modified racing at regular admission prices. Drivers will vie in the Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series 35-lap special paying $2,000 to win in the final tuneup before the 22nd Annual Victoria 200 Weekend September 27-30. Also in race action will be the DIRTcar Sportsman, UMP Pro Stocks, and 4-Cylinder Enduros in regular track points shows. Race time for the race fans bargain at the historic Oswego County track now prepared weekly by Jeremie Corcoran is set for 7pm.
A real all-star cast of the best names in Dirt Modified racing is expected to invade Fulton Speedway on Tuesday for the 35-lap, $2,000 to win shootout which will serve as the last tune-up before Victoria 200 Weekend under the Victoria 200 Rules format. Pat Ward, Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, Danny Johnson, Ryan Phelps, Mitch Gibbs, Bobby Varin, Vic Coffey, Jim Mahaney, Gary Tomkins, Wade Decker Robert King, Bob Henry, Bill Shantel, and many more invaders are expected. Fultons Saturday night regulars including point leader Jimmy Phelps, Alan Johnson, Brian Weaver, Kevin Bates, Roy Bresnahan, Jeremy Smith, Tom Sears, Tim Sears, Steve Hulsizer, Chad Phelps, Willy Decker, and many more are expected to hold their home turf down over the invaders.
In the first Victoria 200 Rules Modiifed Mini-Series event held at Fulton on May 22, Pat Ward edged Gypsum teammate Billy Decker in a thrilling photo finish by .059 seconds at the finish line. Race fans have been talking about that finish and the rest of the Mini-Series all summer, and this excitement will lead to the 22nd Annual Victoria 200 Weekend, when the final Mini-Series event is held on September 27, two days before the Victoria 200 itself.
Currently in the Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series point standings, Pat Ward is the leader over Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, Alan Johnson, and Jimmy Phelps. The driver who accumulates the most points in the 3-race Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series will be one of only two drivers who will be guaranteed for the $25,000 to win Victoria 200 on September 29. The other driver will represent the separate 3-race Victoria 200 Rules Modified Mini-Series held at sister track Brewerton Speedway.
The DIRTcar Sportsman division will battle in a 30-lap extra distance event Tuesday evening for track points. Jeremy Pitcher currently leads the track standings by 40 points over John Pietrowicz and defending titlist Shawn Donath. The hotly contested UMP Pro Stock championship battle will continue as Billy Clark is just 6 points ahead of Jason Parkhurst in the points. Mark Johnston hopes to continue his winning ways as he leads the 4-Cylinder Enduro standings over Jon Shumway, Jerry Herbert, recent winner Les Baker, and Marjorie Wallace.
Admission prices this Tuesday August 21 at Fulton Speedway are $12 for Adults, $5 for Ages 10-14, and children 9 and under are free of charge with a paid adult. The gates will open at 5pm with racing in the fast paced show beginning at 7pm sharp. Fulton Speedway is conveniently located on Route 57, just 2 miles south of the City of Fulton. 2007 Modified Victoria 200 & Victoria 200 Mini-Series Event Rules
1) Must be Modified chassis.
2) Engines 500 c.i. or less. No fuel injection. 358-Modifieds DO NOT need Rev Box.
3) Weight 2,500 pounds - ALL CARS.
4) Any 13" x 92" Dirt Modified tire, including Hoosier, American Racer, Goodyear. All tires MUST durometer 40 or above.
5) Rear quarter panels / sail panels can extend back to 48" maximum (measured from center of rear axle to rear of car including spoiler). Maximum height of sail panels is 65", measured from the ground to highest point. Window / sail panels cannot extend forward beyond the back of the driver's seat and must mirror size and shape side for side. 4" maximum roof spoiler allowed.
6) Sunoco Race Fuel or Methanol. Cars on Methanol may run a 32 gallon maximum fuel cell.
7) No time trials. Draw for heats with sealed envelopes in front of grandstand.
8) No two-way radios at all. One way radio (Raceceiver) mandatory. Frequency is 454.000.
9) AMB transponders will be mandatory for the Victoria 200 only and are recommended for each Mini-Series event and Victoria 200 qualifying. Rentals will be available.
10) Only one Victoria 200 entry per driver.
